Greiss > Fleury I can't wait for him to play again in 2-3 weeks.
  3. No it doesn't. I hope they move. I've always wanted to see that group operate with more flexibility. I guess I'll see it in LA, but I've developed a soft spot for the Rays so it won't be the same.
  4. I don't even care.
  5. I really don't think the Rays will miss a beat. Friedman is a smart guy, but he was hired by smart guys, and then hired a bunch of other smart guys who are still there.
  6. This is an excellent move. The D'Backs are f***ing pathetic.
  7. I see Hanley as the biggest landmine on the market. Guys like this almost never earn the big contracts they get. He's breaking down.
  8. lmao @ Reyes to DH. He's actually an above-average shortstop.
  9. Lesson learned from trading A HOF hitter for a bunch of prospects that busted?
  10. He doesn't even really have to. His arm/speed/defense tools are good enough for him to have Dyson/Bourjos-esque 2+ win seasons in limited time. We saw glimpses this year with 1.3 fWAR in <300 PA.
  11. Elias Lindhom 6 G 2 A in his last 7.
  12. Spanky owns Melky in the DDL and is just being a homer.
  13. I feel like catcher defense is probably one of the most stable skills as players age. You can probably pencil Martin in for 3+ wins for the next 3-4 years.
  14. I'd put money on Martin 3 years from now being > Melky next year.
  15. Can we just ban the 4 people who voted for Melky?
  16. It's really hard to imagine Melky as a useful player 2-3 years from now.
  17. It's not that I don't like Pompey. It's that you want guys like that stepping in as depth mid-season. If Pillar and Pompey struggle/get hurt, who steps in? There's nobody else after them.
  18. Yeah. I'm expecting every capable major league bullet to open the season in the majors (Pompey, Pillar, and now Travis).
  19. I really hope that the OF solution isn't status quo. They have Mayberry/Dirks in LF which you probably pencil in for like 0 WAR, Pillar who might be an OK 4th OF, and Pompey, who could be anywhere from above-average to terrible. If this is the group they plan on rolling with, I don't think they get a whole lot from their OF outside of Bautista.
  20. He's 24 before the season starts, and has 400+ successful PA in at AA, so he could be used from opening day. They should probably have a solid contingency plan in place in the not-unlikely event that he struggles though.
  21. Yeah. People are acting like Travis is a solid bet to come in and be a league-average starter. That's probably not going to happen yet.
  22. I don't think the Tigers were tricked. Gose is the same age as Travis, and probably not worse - just different. They have Kinsler at 2B, and a 500K 4th OF who can play plus defense at all three positions and provide big value on the bases is a nice asset. Fair trade.
