  1. I feel like the A's might try to keep Zobrist around.
  2. C - Rivera 1B - Loney 2B - Franklin 3B - Longoria SS - Cabrera CF - Kiermaier LF - Souza RF - Jennings BN - DeJesus (OF) BN - Jaso BN - Guyer (OF) BN - Forsythe Unless other moves are made, it seems as though they might think Jaso can catch twice a week.
  3. I still think it would have been smart to keep Escobar around just in case.
  4. This doesn't seem to make much sense for TB: - Cabrera is a better 2B than SS - Relying on Nick Franklin is probably a bad idea - Jaso is not a catcher anymore, and he's not taking 1B reps away from Loney, so he's a DH platoon bat for TB - Kiemaier, Jennings, and Souza have the OF locked down, so DeJesus and Guyer is a fine platoon at DH - I don't see the need for Jaso
  5. I know not of what you speak.
  6. You know, the A's might be pretty good this year: C - Vogt/some guy 1B - Freiman/Davis 2B - Zobrist 3B - Lawrie SS - Escobar CF - Crisp LF - Gentry/Fuld RF - Reddick DH - Butler BN - Freiman/Davis BN - Vogt/some guy BN - Gentry/Fuld BN - Semien Defense and roster flexibility for days.
  7. Redmond is a nice 7th pen guy. He should never see anything resembling a high-leverage situation, but he can come in and clean up messes without gas-canning the game away. Keep him around until/unless he gets into the $1 million+ salary range and then find someone else who can do his job for the min.

Getting excited about beating the Blue Jackets is so gauche.
  10. Ugh. I need concentrate a bit more on my farm.
  11. If he plays, I'd rather have him than Waino. I've just seen nothing to convince me that the nerve issue is going away.
  12. f***, average age of my 20 keepers is 30.2. Getting long in the tooth.
  13. I'm in the market for a mediocre bat that I can use as a Country Breakfast contingency plan. I don't care what position. Available: Tim Hudson, Clay Buchholz, picks, prospects.
  14. We suck. Swapping old, broken guys that we paid Jose Fernandez and Matt Harvey for.
  15. It was especially frustrating given that he was the centerpiece of my offense going into the season, and everyone around him s*** the bed. I needed his production, and he was in and out of the lineup all year with oblique strains and that dead thumb.
  16. f*** Ryan Braun. Would not own again. He could easily be a 140 wRC+ guy if they figure the thumb out though.
  17. It's annoying, because the framework was there. - Let Michalek, Phillips, Neil, Smith - pass on Legwand - Keep Spezza - like $15 million in cap-space to add 1-2 D and an extra top-6 forward. Awful ownership + mismanagement shattered that dream though.
  18. That trade would have looked a lot better if they'd either flipped him, or let him walk after playing out his deal. He's a negative-value asset now.
  19. Ottawa would actually be a pretty good team if Spezza hadn't been run out of town and/or Melnyk wasn't a worthless shitbag.
  20. I refuse to acknowledge Phaneuf or Lupul as 'core' pieces. When your team would be better off trading you for a bag of pucks than keeping you, you're not part of the core.
  21. Leafs Kessel JVR Kadri Rielly Gardiner Bernier Sens Karlsson Ryan Turris Hoffman Ceci Cowen Lazar Anderson Lehner Yeah, I'll take Ottawa's group.
  22. I really wanted them to move Anderson after his Vezina-caliber lockout season. A Bishop-Lehner tandem would have been fun.
