  1. Where we differ is that I don't think an organization would actually continue on with a GM that wanted to leave for a promotion but wasn't able to because his boss demanded compensation far beyond any precedent. It makes Angelos look petty, and creates a poor front office environment.
  2. Regardless of what you feel is fair, there is zero precedent for that compensation. You like Duquette, so to you this feels different then every other similar situation, but it isn't. In the end if Duquette wants to come he'll come for a Pillar/Burns type, and if he doesn't want to come this will die.
  3. Then it won't happen. But I don't think he's foolish enough to create that toxic an environment.
  4. If there is mutual interest between Duquette and the The Jays, he'll be hired for minimal compensation. That's just how these things work. Angelos knows he can't deny Duquette an opportunity to advance his career, because if he does it becomes a very toxic environment in Baltimore's front office. People throwing out names like Stroman and Sanchez are out of touch. If that's the demand, Duquette won't be coming. And if he wants to come and that's the demand, he'll be gone from Baltimore within the year.
  5. Fujikawa will be collecting saves by May because Feliz is awful.
  6. Didn't even get taken in the LOD prospect draft lol.
  7. This is true. Trade looks really bad right now.
  8. He's better than his xFIP. Guy induces more infield flies than Chris Young.
  9. Yeah. Beane was able to land a near-elite reliever within less than a week. I don't buy that the Rays thought Escobar had negative value.
  10. Even then, I'm pretty sure Navarro would be a D'back by now if he had even good reliever value.
  11. I don't know, but the entire forum seems to think our $5 million replacement-level player has trade value.
  12. I don't understand why they're willfully ignoring the complete lack of precedent for pieces like Stroman and Pompey being exchanged for an executive.
  13. Young, contributing talent is really just Stroman and Hutchison. Possibly Pompey but that remains to be seen. A lot of the key players are geezers.
  14. That is worst-proportioned neck I've ever seen.
  15. Betts, Bogaerts, Castillo, and Vazquez could be regarded as the best young core in baseball by mid-season.
  16. Freeman could be a 150 wRC+ guy this year. OBP is going north of 0.400.
  17. It's a good thing they signed Markakis. Their lineup might not be competitive without him.
  18. Braves get nothing of real value. John Hart is destroying that franchise.
  19. They already have one Chris Carter, why do they need another?
  20. I would agree, but we've all seen the Vizquel/DeRosa show - If Ichiro signs even a minor league deal he's here until October and probably gets 300+ PA. I'd rather just avoid the debacle altogether.
  21. Vogt and Phegley are both better than Navarro.
  22. The problem is that he's a replacement-level player at this point, and too much playing time for bad players has crippled this team in the last two years. This season should be all-in - go get a 4th OF who can play.
  23. Why would anyone want to keep Navarro around in case he has to DH? He's a 100 wRC+ guy. You can find that at any time off the scrap heap if you don't care about defense.
  24. I don't think the PL exists anymore.
