Young, contributing talent is really just Stroman and Hutchison. Possibly Pompey but that remains to be seen. A lot of the key players are geezers.

I would agree, but we've all seen the Vizquel/DeRosa show - If Ichiro signs even a minor league deal he's here until October and probably gets 300+ PA. I'd rather just avoid the debacle altogether. -

The problem is that he's a replacement-level player at this point, and too much playing time for bad players has crippled this team in the last two years. This season should be all-in - go get a 4th OF who can play. -
Why would anyone want to keep Navarro around in case he has to DH? He's a 100 wRC+ guy. You can find that at any time off the scrap heap if you don't care about defense.

Yeah, aside from shortening the season a bit from 22 weeks there isn't much that can be done easily. Hopefully yahoo just shifts to IR+. IS there even a reason to expect that they wouldn't?
