  1. It's odd because be actually did well during hit brief call up but over a larger sample size I suspect he would have been exposed.
  2. Major league pitchers would carve him up
  3. Poor plate approach? Dumb base running errors? Call him up - he'd fit right in!
  4. LOL. Forum corrects all caps automatically. Yeah it sucks. Need to use the font size thingie in order to yell.
  5. Snider 2013 Pirates: 249 PA 26.5% K rate .226 BA .277 wOBA .332 slugging 3 HR 22 RBI Negative 0.4 WAR Wow, what a bust. So much for a fresh start. Pretty much guaranteeing that he gets himself non-tendered this year.
  6. Speaking of which, Travis Snider is quietly putting up an absolutely atrocious season over there 249 PA 26.5% K rate .226 BA .277 wOBA .332 slugging 3 HR 22 RBI Negative 0.4 WAR Wow, what a bust. So much for a fresh start. Pretty much guaranteeing that he gets himself non-tendered this year.
  7. Pirates Targeting Rios; May Have Interest In Ramirez By Steve Adams [July 18 at 11:30pm CST] The Pirates own the second-best record in all of baseball but find themselves in second place in their own division thanks to the Cardinals. Seeking to bolster their lineup for the season's second half, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports that GM Neal Huntington has his sights set on Alex Rios and may be interested in Alexei Ramirez as well. Pirates right fielders have combined to hit .235/.309/.394 this season and played below replacement level as a whole, according to Fangraphs, thanks to poor defense and baserunning. Rios would obviously serve as a massive upgrade for the final two and a half months, as he's hitting .270/.326/.429 with strong defense and baserunning. However, as Heyman notes, the $18MM that he is guaranteed through next season is steep for the Pirates, who opened the season with a payroll just under $67MM.
  8. Vs David Price tonight BTW Ug Will take Bautista
  9. Goddamit, this is bad
  10. Right It would have taken some money via free agency to plug those holes. That was supposedly his plan - the core, the cheap talent from the minors coming up. There would have been lots of money available with that cheap starting rotation. Maybe 1 key trade for a top end starter. and 1-2 free agent signings could take the team you list a contender. Although now that I've typed that and looking at the "core", there are still some of the problems we have now. Lawrie??? Lind??? Alvarez?? Still some question marks going in to 2014 even if you fill 2B and LF with solid players.
  11. And if he is, I hope he kicks their ass
  12. @Ken_Rosenthal: One official in #Rangers-#Cubs talks believes Garza deal getting closer. Prospects from various levels in play. Olt “possibly” involved.
  13. Romero is out of options That's why he had to clear waivers this year when he was stinking up the joint
  14. Santos just struck out the side
  15. JJ and a BP arm for Cron
  16. It is AA is going to have SERIOUS roster issues over the next month Need to consolidate some assets
  17. Enter Santos
  18. Hells yes
  19. Yep I mean, another starter will likely get hurt before the year is over, but the depth should be there in spades.
  20. Whole bullpen for Miguel Cabrera DONE 3B fixed
  21. Hopefully this joke is no longer true...
  22. Options check... Who among Morrow, Drabek, Hutchison still have options??? Hutch obviously does I guess (he was a rookie last year)
  23. Plus, you can leave him in the minors indefinitely this year, unlike some of the others Once these guys start coming off their rehab assignments there could be a serious roster problem.
