    Dammit You're so right. I'd LOVE for us to get him. But how much $$$? What about Melky? Melky as 4th OF/ part time DH is pretty spendy at 8M.

    It's tricky, I recognize. And on the one hand I understand Wilner's point in that if there is something really wrong, now is the time to know rather than in spring training. BUT, if Edwin could aggravate the injury by playing, and could avoid needing surgery by not playing, then I don't want him playing, obviously. I guess I'd like to think they can tell by examining him, and MRI and by watching him during batting practice. But I'm not sure how easy it is for the medical staff to be able to tell. That's sort of what went wrong with both Bautista and Texiara. The timing for Bautista was better, because he declared himself at the end of the season after trying to come back. Tex was really bad because it was at the start of the season IIRC.

    I'm not even letting myself hope for Choo TBH. Just seems so unlikely. I can live with Cabrera/Rasmus/Bautista/Gose as our OF next year But I want JPA gone for McCann, Ruiz or Piern and I want Garza or Tanaka signed

    And I was a JPA defender at the start if this season. Now I just can't WAIT to see him gone. How awesome would it be if he was designated for assignment before the season even ended???

    My thoughts exactly. No front office, no matter how inept, can ignore an everyday player hitting under .200. We know they don't used the advanced stats, so thankfully he's making it easier for them by sucking in the most basic one.

    Many wanted to see a middle infield of Hech (all glove, terrible bat) and Escobar (very good glove, so so bat) Reyes (excellent bat, acceptable glove) and Goins (excellent glove, marginal bat) doesn't seem too bad in comparison...
