  3. Joyce Fitzpatrick, a spokeswoman for Bosch, said Friday that Bosch had not been paid by baseball for his cooperation. Bull f***ing s***
  4. NY Times: Among the allegations, Rodriguez’s lawyers wrote that Major League Baseball had paid Bosch, the head of the now-closed Biogenesis clinic in Coral Gables, Fla., a total of $5 million in monthly installments “to buy his cooperation,” citing “at least one individual who claims to have knowledge of Mr. Bosch’s deal.” The lawyers said that baseball also promised to provide security for Bosch, cover his legal bills and indemnify him from civil liability stemming from the case. Joyce Fitzpatrick, a spokeswoman for Bosch, said Friday that Bosch had not been paid by baseball for his cooperation. Bud Selig, the commissioner of baseball, was named as a defendant in the suit, but the Yankees, who owe Rodriguez $86 million after this season, were not, nor were any of the team’s officers.

  9. Alex Rodriguez Sues Major League Baseball by Steve Adams, Oct 4 at 10:02 AM CST Alex Rodriguez has filed a lawsuit against Major League Baseball, accusing MLB of buying the cooperation of Biogenesis founder Tony Bosch to further a "witch hunt" to push him out of the game permanently, according to Steve Eder, Serge Kovaleski, and Benjamin Weiser of the New York Times. The lawsuit claims that an investigator paid $150K for stolen records pertaining to Rodriguez (part of which was reportedly exchanged in a paper bag at a Fort Lauderdale restaurant). The lawsuit also claims that MLB has paid Bosch as much as $5MM for his cooperation in addition to promising to provide him security, cover his legal bills and indemnify him from civil liability. Rodriguez is quoted as stating that this lawsuit is separate from the ongoing arbitration hearing regarding his 211-game suspension:
  10. And what Casey said is true - I doubt there's any hitter a pitcher would less rather face than Miggy in a high leverage situation
  11. So, Lind is smarter than Dozier??
  12. Izruris and Arencibia were among the 20 most negatively performing players in all of MLB this year and racked up 900 PA between the two of them. Both cannot be on this team next year and Izturis can only stay if he's a true backup, getting < 200 PA
  13. Possibly. And his market value was never 300M anyway. That was just the starting point for negotiations. Regardless, I think Hank Steinbrenner and Brian Cashman should send Magic Johnson a case of Dom Perignon to say "thank you"
  14. Did you hear that? That was the sound of Cano's market value dropping from 300M to 200M.
  15. CBS Sports: ATLANTA -- Dodgers owner Magic Johnson suggested he has confidence the team will lock up likely Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw to a new contract this winter but there won't be room even in their vast budget for star second baseman Robinson Cano, too. Other sources suggest the Dodgers and Kershaw were talking about a deal for $200-million-plus sometime in the summer before talks broke off. The deal was said to have been for at least seven years, and possibly eight, and may have included an opt-out provision a few years into it.
  16. Boring, boring games Oh well, lots of baseball still to be played I just hope the WS isn't a sleeper again this year
  17. He's only leaving if they get seriously outbid, or if he decides he wants a change of scenery He's likely still with Atlanta next year
  18. Thread had been locked Not sure why Fixed
  19. Has the been a post season game yet not decided by at least 4-5 runs?!?!
