  1. For anyone not listening to the Jays feed, Gibby said that Dickey is battling a broken nail again. Wasn't sure if it happened in warmup or after that first inning. Probably explains the walks in the second.
  2. Looks like a pretty good crowd tonight, especially for a Tuesday.
  3. If ever there was a candidate for the Delabar velocity program, it's Zito. Boni!
  4. We have to start getting Lind's bat in the lineup, rather than him sitting whenever someone is a little sore and dh's. At this point, put him in LF for all I care.
  5. I'm just happy Gibby is willing to try different things with the lineup (at least until the bats get going and/or Reyes returns). I think I'd swap EE and Bautista right now since Bautista is hotter (and Rasmus protecting him isn't much incentive to pitch to him atm), but it's not a big deal either way. I love the idea of Lind batting second, at least while he's having long at-bats and walking like he is right now.
  6. Hard to believe a Yankee team has 1) THAT kind of starting lineup and 2) is actually winning with that lineup.
  7. No, Hutch threw 149.1 innings in 2011 across 3 levels
  8. All kinds of intriguing sounding guys on those lists! Of the potentially lesser guys, Aybar in particular could be interesting as it sounds like his bonus demands will have really dropped due to possible age. Pinto also sounds kind of interesting. Advanced, plus defensive catcher with some pop.
  9. Poor Bauer there. That ball probably should have been a double play. No outs on the play AND he gets his foot stomped on while reaching for the ball. At least he's throwing strikes.
  10. Going to be cheering for the Tribe for sure. Hard to see a patient Yankees team losing to a pitcher that makes this year's Romero look like a control expert though.
  11. He looked kind of hittable, but he did a fantastic job staying down in the zone and painting the corners. He didn't have his good (for him) fastball, but hopefully that will improve as he gets a few more starts. Who knew the key to pitching well against the Red Sox was to throw junkballers out there? Btw, didn't it posted anywhere, but apparently Melky is having a lot of hamstring issues right now. He's playing through it, but it likely explains his bat as well as why he's looked so slow in the field.
  12. Both teams getting fantastic starts. Worse thing in the world is to have to go to the pen early in the first game of a double header. I'd kind of like to see this game get tied up and go deep into extras though (as long as the tribe win), tucker out the Yanks pen really good.
  13. Interesting, ump didn't seem to happy with something at the end there, was talking to Gibbons. Wonder what that was about.
  14. Valverde with a blown save
  15. Nice to see a team other than us have a brain fart on the base paths.
  16. I can't even think of the last time I saw a player choke up on the bat as far as Kawasaki did there. No reason to sit him vs lefties with the patience he has.
  17. I think he averaged almost 91 last year when he came up, although 89-90 is probably more reasonable for him. He IS just coming off the dl, with only one start this year before this one.
  18. It seems that sinker-ballers can get away with low k rates a little easier (just ask Lowe). With that said, Jenkins doesn't have the break on his sinker (at least so far this year) that Lowe did. I suspect Jenkins role will eventually be as a long man / spot starter.
  19. I don't see how that's possible, considering he has walked in 4 of his last 5 games.
