  1. That was incredibly painful. Can't one of these recording artists just do it right rather than try to show off?
  2. Anyone else see that Harvey piece on MLB Central? He was walking around New York polling people on what they thought of him, but all these fans (one wearing a Harvey jersey) didn't know it was him.
  3. It appears you can enter it, just can't accept the prizes if you win. It would still be pretty damn cool to have your entry win. Also, we have people on this board who live in the States so check the attitude.
  4. Didn't see this posted anywhere. Unfortunately to accept a prize you have to be a resident of the USA (seriously???). http://www.milb.com/content/page.jsp?ymd=20130705&content_id=52782900&fext=.jsp&sid=t422&vkey
  5. I suspect we'll be competitively in on him. The fact we aren't mentioned in the rumors is probably a good thing. We also clearly have a spot for him, basically right now.
  6. Is there some sort of contest for the Derby today?
  7. I want Prince to win it, or at least be in the final round. Something absolutely awe inspiring about the shots he hits.
  8. Enjoyed reading that, thanks.
  9. If I remember right they were pretty much out of it at the time of the trade, and it took an epic collapse by another team for them to even squeak in.
  10. Thornton paying dividends already ... but not for Boston. Takes the loss.
  11. Send them Gose for what though? Unless we got an Utley or Ruiz (with an extension), what else do they have available that we'd want?
  12. I'm not sure we can say that. The original reports apparently suggested that having him start where he gets structured and regular work, with proper time to warm up would be best for his health. If he can stay healthy he definitely provides the best value in the rotation though.
  13. Watching this Canada - USA border battle softball match is ... kinda painful.
  14. Arbitrary end points with all else being equal are misleading, but I'm not sure they are in Romero's case as it appears he's getting his confidence and command back. I do think however that he should get at minimum 3 to 5 more starts down there before even considering bringing him up, and coming up in September would be even better.
  15. I'm totally on board with that IF it's done early in the off-season and Halladay is put immediately on the Delabar program (and if the contract isn't stupid).
  16. Dustin is really a good question. If he stays relatively healthy, I think he'll be either a higher end starter or a closer. His stuff is just too dominant for anything else. The question is in how we can keep him healthiest.
  17. Once again I go back to ... walk him. Every single time.
  18. Syndergaard's fastball was dominant (but we already knew that). The breaking balls were a bit sloppy with a hanger or two (we knew that too). Decent appearance.
  19. A ball to third that Izzy probably should have had and a fluke bloop by Jones make this inning look a lot worse than it really was. The only bad pitch he's really made was the one to Davis
  20. AA seemed fairly clear that he wasn't looking for a rental, so if we got Garza you'd have to think it would be coming with an extension.
  21. No-no watch for Lincecum. Bottom of the 8th.
