  1. Maybe Morrow should be banned from spring training lol
  2. Clearly the BBDL is desperately needed to show these scrubs how it's done
  3. Yeah, I agree. Man would it be a huge boost though if RR could get it together again.
  4. I'm not so sure about not being able to spend a little more. Seems like Rogers is hell bent on dominating the sports landscape with all their teams. http://www.sportsnet.ca/soccer/mls/teams/toronto-fc/toronto-fc-jermain-defoe-michael-bradley-toronto-raptors-lebron-james-toronto-maple-leafs/
  5. Even bigger might be if RR finally got it back together again coming out of the spring. It would be great for that contract not to be dead weight.
  6. He might not like "performance" enhancing substances in there ...
  7. There's definitely gotta be a few players getting a little uncomfortable right now.
  8. Not to mention the (extremely unlikely) possibility of it landing on edge.
  9. I see a joke forming involving a pair of pussies and a Dirty (filthy stuff) Sanchez... Interesting trade though
  10. Probably with USA and Russia right on their heels. We'd probably be there too if the gov't spent more on the athletes.
  11. If the courts hear the case, they would almost certainly force the suspension to be put on hold until they ruled in the case. It's extremely likely they'll tell A-Rod to suck it up and have no further contact with him though.
  12. I consider them pretty much equally despicable (along with Selig). All three should share a dark smelly cell somewhere. Regardless, assuming Bosch is actually telling the truth it provides some interesting tidbits into how players were able to cheat with almost no risk of getting caught. (apparently some of those ways would no longer work as of last year)
  13. Yeah, but the suspension would also have to be suspended during the court case, which means he'd get paid and be able to play while he was fighting it. It would still be a net win for him.
  14. If we're getting a starter off FA, then it isn't necessary to trade Rasmus anyway (although it would absolutely be worth considering in the right deal)
  15. Quite a few more quotes from that here (some very interesting): http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1920859-takeaways-from-anthony-boschs-60-minutes-interview-discussing-alex-rodriguez I should probably stop being lazy and just watch the actual interview...
  16. One of the best names period lol. And Huckaby as a hitting coach??? He made JPA look good!

Byfuglien is apparently a horrible defender, which is why people don't like him at defense (I'm a Canucks fan, so I don't see him very often to weigh in myself). I think his best value might be at forward with the ability to play defense on the PP, or fill in on D if someone goes down with injury during the game or if the team is down and needs some extra scoring punch from the back end.
  18. He said he loves pressure. If he signs with the Yankees and scuffles, he'll get more pressure than he bargained for. I do love seeing things go wrong for the Yankees too
  19. This is what I've been saying ever since they changed the posting rules (before that it was easily the Yankees imo).
  20. Probably about a 10% chance.
  21. I think at some point the batter either has to completely overhaul their swing (which most wouldn't do if they're successful), or has to just live with it. You can make tweaks and adjust the mental approach, but that's about it. I don't know if it's true or not, I'm just thinking out loud.
  22. I suspect it has more to do with the analytics available now. When the players first come up, people have to discover their weaknesses and counter any adjustments the player makes. After two years or so, the player is likely to be unable or unwilling to make further adjustments (maybe minor tweaks), so the book on how to attack them grows while their ability to adapt to the changes often doesn't. Add to that a general reduction in speed as the player finishes filling out, and an early peak makes some sense. The early decline may not be from degradation of skill, other than a little speed, but from the adjustments being made by the pitchers.
  23. Interesting. Surprising to see so many of Happ's pitches rate with decent TIPS. I think when you get more data, it might be an idea to separate starters and relievers in the comparisons.
  24. Looks like CarGo went under the knife, expected to need 2 months to recover, although should still be ready for opening day.
  25. This seemed like an appropriate place to put this: http://www.gocomics.com/nonsequitur/2014/01/11
