Lol, I just switched over from the Raps game and wasn't paying attention. Took a glance and wondered by the Padres batter had a Hawaiian shirt on (then took a double take and realized it was that horrible camo).
I think this is pretty much what most of us felt. He would have been a great option as a semi-regular bench bat, basically meaning you can carry a 3rd catcher without losing anything. Whether his breakout last year is legit or not, we'll have to see.
I believe there was something at the time about Kevin Cash being very much against the trade, saying that Gomes would be a full time major league catcher.
I love how they've brought in Sanchez and Stroman to get them a feel for the big crowds and feel of a major league game. That should pay huge dividends when they do come up.
The Jays should consider taking one or two series during the year that are usually poorly attended and move those games to Montreal. Improve attendance a bit and get more people in Montreal excited about the Jays.
Usually when Lind goes opposite field, it's a fly ball or line drive I believe. I wasn't paying attention today, but generally teams shift on the infield and play straight up in the outfield against him.
I didn't see this posted anywhere (although I might have missed it). It's the Star's annual interview with AA, and for once it's actually quite well done imo. People might not like some of what AA says though.
