  1. I love this trade! Seems fair for both teams too, which is always nice.
  2. Makes sense to me, that's probably what I would have done. I don't think that makes him an insufferable prick. There's lots of other more valid reasons to call him that imo.
  3. I'd be interested in Draisaitl
  4. Looks like the Braves are trying to trade Gattis. That would be an interesting target for backup catcher / DH (assuming we got Martin to handle Dickey, or traded Dickey).
  5. Not as long as my climb...
  6. Nothing like the good 'ol lefty-lefty platoon. On a side note, now crazy is it that BOTH lefties actually hit LHP slightly better...

Lol, they said for the Canucks / LA game that the Kings are so close to the cap that they can't call anyone up to replace an injured player, so they're forced to go with 5 defenseman tonight.
  8. Boy do I regret starting Anton Forsberg now. Figured I had a big lead in GAA and SV%, if he let in a few, no big deal. I didn't count on 4 in the first 15 minutes.
  9. Because the Dodgers basically told him to take a pay cut or they would send him packing (which they did)? I doubt he's going to be inclined to go back.
  10. I'm not so sure, but we'll know fairly early on imo. It's unlikely Martin will be going there, there's almost nothing else on the FA list for catchers, and their catchers last year were a disaster (negative WAR, although I haven't looked up their framing stats). LA has a big mess in the outfield to sort out and needs some pitching at a reasonable price. I think it's actually a decent fit for both teams.
  11. I expect Martin to get around 5/70 (14 per). As for trading Navarro, I think you look at the Dodgers (add Happ or Estrada and get Van Slyke?) or perhaps the Mariners straight up for Saunders.
  12. I know AA doesn't like incentives, but Melky really is the perfect situation for one. Do something like 5/40 with incentives that bring it up to 5/70 or something.
  13. Didn't he have surgery on his knees in the offseason? It'll be interesting to see if it helps.
  14. Doesn't look like a lot to like there. Axford and McPherson. Jason Lane who could fill a mop up bullpen role as well as extra bat off the bench could be mildly interesting. Wilmer Font for the pen!
  15. Nothing like getting 5 blocks from a forward
  16. I thought this was a rather interesting quote from the link: He kind of sounds like an AA clone.
  17. Open to offers. Need to free up some roster space though.
  18. Anyone have interest in Berglund, Ryder, or Conacher?
  19. That was almost an airball from the ft line
  20. I'm almost starting to feel sorry for them. I bet JV isn't though.
  21. Yeah, to avoid Carpenter 2.0, we held onto McGowan. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't.
  22. I wonder if we could see the Jays trade Buehrle and add multiple free agents that cost picks, then go nuts in the IFA market next year instead?
  23. I think there was actually some recent reports that their TV deal could be in some trouble, and they might be looking to cut some payroll if possible.
  24. Right with you
