  1. What lesson exactly is that? If the bosses wanted him to do it the previous year, they were probably a little firmer about it the next year. If he refused, he's probably fired on the spot.
  2. That's a nice little pickup, provided he's not playing every day.
  3. Fairly SSS, but Redmond has a career 3.25 FIP and 3.61 xFIP vs righties (with a good k/bb), and gets destroyed vs lefties. Moving him to a role where they can match him up better makes a certain amount of sense. Hendriks should be roughly equivalent to Redmond in the long relief role. Of course, the also probably could have just plopped Jenkins in that role.
  4. This seems a little odd, but I have to think he's the new long man next year. Throws strikes, youngish, cheap, some upside. Could be a lot worse options imo, especially since Redmond will almost certainly be graduating to higher profile situations. Seems like a bit of a waste to give up a player to get someone to fill that role though.
  5. The poor defense in actual games surprises me a bit. I could have sworn when Smoak was coming up, he was billed as an elite defender.
  6. Me too. Really glad he's been called up.
  7. Smoak's career road splits are quite a lot better than his home ones (mostly due to a babip more in line with what you'd expect to see). It's possible he's doing something different in Safeco, or for some reason just doesn't see the ball well there.
  8. Interesting. Also looks like Seattle is just about done with Saunders as Jack Z called him out, so maybe a Lind for Saunders swap?
  9. Yeah, this is very surprising. It would be interesting to know what Seitzer signed for in Atlanta.
  10. I have no doubt you'll be extending it next week too
  11. Nothing like my goalie giving up 5 goals and still getting the win.
  12. I don't believe it would, at least not right now. There seems to be a pretty high immigrant population, most of which doesn't seem to come from places particularly interested in baseball.
  13. It sure would have been more useful if Yahoo had told me last night that Kane and Nichuskin had been activated yesterday, rather than this morning when it was too late to do anything about it...
  14. Is there a little keyboard picture at the bottom of your screen (language bar)? If so, click on it and select the correct language.
  15. He'll get way too much money. Not worth the premium.
  16. Even the new WOW expansion went from 39.99 to 49.99
  17. It shouldn't be surprising. At some point, you (mostly) exhaust what you can do with the available stats. Then you wait until data collection improves and begin again. With MLBAM rolled out next year to all 30 teams, we should see an explosion in the next year or two. Also, as each new stat improves on previous ones, the amount of improvement is generally smaller. At some point, people (at least the public) don't care about the difference in the small amount of improvement, especially if it also comes with an extremely complicated formula.
  18. That's an interesting point. I hope I can free up some time soon to give it all a go.
  19. Looking into it closer is something I'd really like to do, but for 50/50 tournaments I'm not sure a traditional optimal lineup would be the right strategy. You don't have to finish first, just in the money. I suspect reducing some variability may be more helpful than achieving on average a slightly higher scoring, but more volatile lineup.
  20. Yup. So was Delgado and Werth.

Yeah, that's true. I'm hoping Markov continues his early success too for that reason (especially with the hits, which has always been his weakness).

That would be nice...I think. Since I don't think I'll be competing this year, hopefully it doesn't crush a high pick for me though.

    Ouch... I have Halak too
