    Skole and Borenstein could be rather interesting to select. Not sure how either is on defense though.

    I'm surprised we haven't really heard any rumors about Scherzer.

    You don't need a guy like Lester. The point is adding as many wins as possible. For Lester money, you probably get roughly (or within a few million) a guy like Shields and Headley, and add 2 wins to what you would have in a good Lester year, and 3 or 4 in an average Lester year.

    AA had better not offer Lester that. We can put that money to way more effective use.

    I think with the money difference (especially Buehrle), we wouldn't get great prospects from them. I'd have to wonder if a Buehrle for Cespedes trade might be something they'd do though. Given the character questions about Cespedes recently and our "remodeling" to seemingly eliminate them, I'm not sure it's a trade our front office would do.

    It feels to me like last year the Red Sox got too frustrated watching young players not perform. What will be more interesting is seeing what they will do with the rotation. It seems like they pretty much have to trade bats for pitching.
