    Really tough for us to gauge. There's some scouts that think he's a #4 or a #5, and some probably think he's the next Iwakuma. It's gonna be interesting to see if someone pays him like a #2, or if he gets something closer to 15 per.

    I don't mind this. I assume it's close to the minimum. Goins last year had a 92 wRC+ versus righties, and Barney has a career 92 wRC+ versus lefties. Both play great defense. There's definitely some value if platooned, especially since Travis is probably out for the first month or two, and Tulo has a pretty crappy injury history himself.

    It would make a lot more sense to spend the money on one of the good pitchers that are left imo. Still, Davis could potentially be a 2 to 3 win upgrade in the short term. Our batting lineup would be so absurd even the video games would balk at it.

    Hopefully we can trade Revere and one of Smoak or Bello for a pair of decent relievers (preferably while saving some money).

    Not a good idea. It would discourage new people who may be here to actually learn. The ignore button serves just fine for this.

    Unlikely. Most teams only require compensation for lateral moves, this is a promotion for him. If teams blocked their employees from taking promotions, they'd have a hard time getting quality employees.

    Taking a flier on him would make me very happy (provided it was incentive driven).

    It really isn't that big a pay raise. He turned down more money last year to come here where he had a better path to playing time (if I remember right). He had made 2.6M the previous year, so it would probably be better to look at it as 2.6M to 3.2M to 3.9M or something like that. We just got a discount in the middle.

    Cishek could be a real interesting guy to sign. Has closing experience, and shouldn't cost a ton.

    Delabar and Thole for sure. (they may resign Thole though) Smoak and Saunders will be much more interesting, and possibly even Revere.

    I really wanted Price back with us, but not at THAT AAV.

    Prince Fielder has a terrible body, but led the league in home runs one year, and is a career 300 home run hitter (so far). Maybe it's not on the same level, but judging based on body probably isn't wise.

    I'm not so sure. Zimmerman is basically being paid as an ace, and (imo) he's probably a #2 starter.

    It's too bad he can't score unless he dunks it (and even then only sometimes). The blocks and defensive presence are nice, but teams are likely going to simply ignore him offensively and double someone else.
