  1. Jamie asking very good questions.
  2. It's entirely possible LaCava doesn't WANT to be a GM too.
  3. FFS, stop with the AA questions.
  4. He might possibly be laying it on a little thick.
  5. There's a few people not regularly setting lineups. I don't think the league will fold or anything, but it would be nice if people would put in 2 or 3 minutes a week to set them.
  6. Depends what the new GM was to do. If he trades other guys and it's clear to Edwin and Jose that the team isn't going to compete this year, then both would probably waive their no trade clauses if it meant going to a contender.
  7. There's also the possibility he partially tears things down (not sure Rogers would agree to that though). Bautista and Edwin would fetch a pretty nice return even in the final seasons of their contracts. Might be able to completely fix the pitching that way, and get a promising young bat or too on top of it.
  8. The Yankees aren't as strong because they had a whole bunch of aging players signed to monster contracts, and had little to no players coming out of the farm.

  10. And then there's GD
  11. Yeah, if you don't have other commitments like a family, tons of people would jump at the chance I'm sure. Hell of a lot better than working for free in the mail room to get noticed, if you want to get in the door.
  12. Actually I think most people here liked Syndergaard better, but there were rumors that the organization liked Sanchez more.
  13. I don't get that feeling. I think he and Shapiro have different (probably incompatible) viewpoints on how to build and maintain the franchise going forward. It's likely that AA didn't want to be forced to make various moves that he fundamentally disagreed with. I doubt it had anything to do with ego.
  14. So apparently we went from putting up with bad umps to having the pleasure of seeing bad refs again ...
  15. Heyward scares me a bit, so much of his value is tied up in his legs. When those start to go, he's probably a 2-3 WAR player. I feel like someone is really gonna regret the back end of his contract.
  16. Seems pretty even. Not sure what the point was, unless someone was short at one of the positions.
  17. Probably not that high from the playoff run. I'd have to think we'll see a payroll bump though.
  18. Yeah, this was a fantastic year. I have no complaints (except for the ump/mlb/announcer bias in the playoffs) And happy birthday!
  19. Someone should seriously organize a gay pride parade outside that group's church. And yes, it's both hard to believe there are people like that, as well as hard to believe that laws actually allow them to openly spread hate like that. Sometimes freedom of speech goes too far.
  20. The Jays really should have had some fun with that, and passed out a bunch of white shirts to fans in that section when the controversy happened.
  21. Browsers only do that if there is something dangerous on the site (like a script that installs malware on your computer). DO NOT keep trying to go to a site if you're being warned that it's dangerous!!!
  22. No idea what Gibby is thinking on it, but Volquez has thrown a lot of high quality off-speed stuff this year. Probably not a good matchup for Smoak atm.
  23. I've been to Thailand, Hong Kong (before the changeover), and Japan. It was when I was fairly young through, so my memory is a little foggy of a lot of it. Thailand was really different. The traffic (and especially taxi drivers) are insane. Ours was going up to 140 kph in fairly dense traffic (actually caught a little air once or twice). Scared the crap out of us. I remember seeing one of the "touristy" things with crocodile shows, and performers sticking their heads in their mouths. Apparently every once in a while, it doesn't end so well, but no one lost any body parts when we were there. The other thing I remember was the pollution. If you spit, it was literally black. Hong Kong was pretty cool. Very modern (cutting edge even) and clean. Even cheap accommodations were almost luxury compared to here. Got to ride one of the trains and see a bunch of the countryside. Really enjoyed it there. Dunno if it's as nice now. I don't remember much about Japan, other than how crowded and expensive it was.
  24. This shows some of the various ratings: https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/eh-game/blue-jays-continue-to-set-records-for-sportsnet-024554485.html
