  1. I love Sano and Yelich, but that seems like a really, really steep price to pay to get them.
  2. s***, I missed it too in the BBDL. I could have sworn I put him in the lineup last night.
  3. They probably should have done this several starts ago if they were going to, but I think it is a realistic solution. Hell, they could possibly even do this AND move Sanchez back a day or so every start. That would have the effect of giving all of the starters some extra rest via two short starts prior to the playoffs. Another partial solution might be to alternate Sanchez between a full start every other time out, and a single 3 inning appearance from the pen in between. That would keep his pitch count up but innings down at least a little.
  4. Moss and his .943 ops is available.
  5. Baltimore has a pretty easy schedule over the next week too.
  6. Yeah, Phuket and some of the tourist areas were pretty nice.
  7. I've been to Thailand. I was fairly young, so don't remember everything. Things of note: 1) It was jarring seeing so many people begging in the streets in Bangkok (I think it was leprosy that was an issue for many of them). 2) The cab drivers are f***ing insane. We literally got air off a couple bridges at about 150 kph. 3) The trainers putting on alligator shows have short lifespans. 4) You could get amazing deals from the street vendors in the tourist areas. 5) I remember seeing the hotel we had stayed at when the tsunami footage was being shown on the air.
  8. Got a gift call there. That was clearly a ball.
  9. Astros pitchers at home: 9.05 Astros pitchers on the road: 7.9 k/9 Definitely could be something to no one being able to pick up the ball.
  10. Stro threw 166 innings in 2014 (at least). Teams don't seem to be as concerned with it in instances where they miss one year if they've already built up to it in the recent past (who knows if they're right or not).
  11. Even if he is piggybacked, a deeper playoff run could push him over 200 innings if he starts. They probably would have needed to do it several starts ago if they wanted to go that route. It kinda sounded to me (reading between the lines) like the plan is to use him judiciously in bringing him in for multiple innings when protecting an important lead.
  12. If anyone is interested, you can pull a lot of the data yourself. This is today's game for example (subject to usage restrictions): http://gd2.mlb.com/components/game/mlb/year_2016/month_08/day_02/gid_2016_08_02_tormlb_houmlb_1/inning/inning_all.xml
  13. Where is that from? Is it a Gameday feature, or is it from Fangraphs or something similar, or did you pull it yourself?
  14. Looked pretty clearly safe to me. Do they have access to all the home AND road feeds for replay?
  15. It's almost like the various Duff(e)*ys (aside from the Astros one) co-ordinate with each other when they're good and when they suck.
  16. There's a lot of costs that bring that figure way down. For starters, we pay 31% of our local net revenue into the revenue sharing pool. On top of that, because we're one of the 15 biggest markets we're disqualified from RECEIVING any of that pooled revenue (we do get refunded a portion of it though I believe, probably half). Merchandise sales go into a central distributed fund, and food/drinks is managed by a 3rd party on a fixed contractual basis I believe. There's also all the staff we have to pay.
  17. I think someone said the Pirates haven't been able to reach him yet, and they want to be the ones to notify him rather than him hearing it on social media. Probably is more filler than sexy though.
  18. Probably Bolsinger who should remain stretched out in AAA. We're also assuming that Sanchez moves to the pen, but there are other scenarios.
  19. It's exactly the kind of trade that gave teams like the Yankees and Dodgers an advantage in the past.
  20. It's still possible Pitts is covering some of the salary too.
  21. He's probably more like Pillar. Nothing wrong with that though.
  22. This is fantastic (depending on what we gave up) if true. Also, Liriano had a really great season with Martin catching him. He's also done really well with Cervelli catching. He might be a guy who really needs a good catcher to guide him through a game.
  23. It's a good move for the O's, I just think Upton fits our needs better. As I said, I would have loved to have gotten both.
