  1. Well, if you're gonna stand there like an idiot and not at least try to get out of the way, that's what you get lol.
  2. Hentgen and Halladay both still look fantastic. Halladay looks like he's put on a little weight, which is interesting because I believe it was digestion issue that forced him to retire and had caused him to look like a string bean last time he appeared at something like this.
  3. Is this a depiction of you as you search for the next Marwin Gonzalez, Ben Paulsen, or Jorge Polanco you can run out there?
  4. Players I'd like to trade by deadline: Upton Jr: CF, 16hr, 23 sb Scooter Gennett: 2B, decent bench option Will Harris: 12 saves, 17 holds, 2.70 era, 5.44 k/bb Junichi Tazawa: 15 holds Tony Cingrani: 13 saves, 8 holds Ryan Schimpf: 2B/3B, > 900 ops Willing to look at all kinds of returns. Other guys could be available too if I get an interesting offer.
  5. If the Yankees are responsible for his contract, are they also responsible for any milestone payouts he may get if he does or would a new team if they pick him up?
  6. Unless Gonzalez said something really ugly there, no reason to throw him out. He was walking away and suffered two bad calls. Let him get in a few words and put it out of your mind.
  7. He's 3 months younger (seriously?), and xFIP disagrees even this year. Archer has a much better track record on top of that.
  8. I'd easily take Archer over Duffy. Mazara and Soler are probably a wash. I'm not sure if trading Stanton was in his best interests though.
  9. You need some Melvin Upton in your life
  10. Regardless of whether it may or may not be allowed, personally I would probably say that benching players to try to intentionally lose should not be done. Playing players when you're ahead knowing they may cause you to lose some extra categories is probably fine, although it's nice when people try to manage their matchups to win. Let losses come from the personnel.
  11. They must feel Jose will only need the 14 days, or Carrera will be back in a few days or something. Only possible way that it would make some sense not to call Pompey up right now.
  12. That's the right call on that play. Surprised it was made though.
  13. The whole team isn't sharp at the moment. Soooo many mental errors tonight.
  14. Imagine if Estrada could somehow teach that changeup to Sanchez?
  15. Clearly even if he came back from this one, he was probably only a year or two and another operation away from ending it anyway. Makes sense for him to retire.
  16. I seem to remember getting laughed at for taking Wil Myers that high.
  17. Depends whether you had the #1 pick or not
  18. I'd like to see Gibbons have a better replay challenge record, but he's not the one actually looking at the video. He also seems to waste one occasionally to stick up for his player when they're sure they're right. As far as one run games go, I think that has more to do with our personnel. We have a lot of guys who take big swings, and when you're playing for a single run against high end relievers that may not be the best fit. I think the only real issue is some of the weird lineups he posts on occasion.
  19. This is interesting regarding innings limits and current research: http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/doctors-research-opinion-sanchez-situation/
  20. Seeing A-Rod meet those financial milestones would have been nice as a big FU to the Yankees. I think even better was him torpedoing the Yankees this year though.
  21. Someone would give him something for them before it came to that.
  22. That one clearly wasn't intentional, but the Royals sure seem to do a lot of that.
  23. I really, REALLY dislike contraction. The hockey league was a different set of circumstances.
