  1. FFS, if we're gonna sacrifice, at least do it with someone who knows how.
  2. Over / under on how many more innings before Angel throws someone out?
  3. BABIP for AL starters this year is .297. Stroman is at .312, which is almost exactly in line with what he did last year. He isn't having a lucky BABIP year.
  4. Oh great, everyone's favorite umpire ...
  5. There has to be more to it that isn't mentioned, like maybe the Rangers wanting the entire gate from the three games too or something. I understand the Rangers not wanting to upset their schedule when people make plans well ahead of time, but given Houston is going to Tropicana instead, it wouldn't make sense to make that move just because the Rangers wouldn't swap series.
  6. Biagini might need to tighten up the curve a little. It looks like there's very little margin for error in actually throwing a strike with it. You can get away with that as a reliever where guys don't see much of you, but much tougher as a starter. Halladay had the same problem when he came up with the knuckle curve, which he later abandoned for a more traditional one. The knuckle curve broke so much he couldn't throw strikes with it.
  7. And as horrible as usual, misplaying balls in the outfield. At least we're not playing defense like Seattle is today.
  8. Yeah, I'm getting a lot of timeout errors and stuff. I don't know if the site is misconfigured, or if it's still being attacked. I haven't had an issue with posts being smaller.
  9. I think there are measurements for it, but it's not available to the general public. I agree that his bat speed seems slower, but I think it has to do with approach more than age. I think he isn't getting around on the balls as well because he's trying to go up the middle more.
  10. His defense has improved quite a bit this year (still negative, but not quite so embarrassingly so). I still feel like he's changed his approach at the plate this year, and it just isn't working for him. He's hitting a lot more balls up the middle and opposite field, and he's never hit for good average to right field.
  11. Apparently the Irving - Thomas trade may be scuttled due to one of the physicals.
  12. Colon might be able to run faster than Morales can. Good grief, competitive walkers can probably move faster.
  13. Did Colon really just hit 93?
  14. I know Murphy is having another incredible season, but that is a very, very good return imo.
  15. It's the Yankees. I'm kinda surprised he got 4.
  16. They'll likely want to build his innings up, which could take a few years. I doubt we'll see a really aggressive promotion schedule.
  17. People use things called botnets (basically compromised computers, IoT devices, etc, which can number in the thousands or millions) to send potentially billions of requests a second to a website. The site can't handle the load, and basically tells the owner it's going on strike. The site goes down. As for why it's happening here, who the hell knows. No idea why someone would risk jail (or worse depending on the country), to inconvenience a few hundred baseball fans in Canada.
  18. It's the Yankees. Miggy will probably get more than he does, if he gets any at all.
  19. Well sure, but you'd have to do it manually every time you wanted fresh data. It can definitely be done through the API, but that requires some good programming knowledge. Ziguana would be easiest by far, if it still allows for doing that.
  20. Isn't it paged? It would be a LOT of queries.
  21. I think you can do it with Ziguana, or at least you used to be able to.
  22. It seems like he's been intentionally trying to use more of the field. You don't see the violent pulling of the ball he did in the past. I'd like to see him get back to what was working in the past.
  23. Not bad, not incredible. Perfectly fine for a back of the rotation guy imo.
