  1. It would be hilarious if both starting pitchers left after getting only one out. Ah well.
  2. And the battle of the short porch is tied lol.
  3. Last few pitches by Santana were harder than anything he threw all season.
  4. You know Santana's not going to beat himself. The Yankees are going to have to relax and swing the bat. If they go up there desperate to get it all back at once, it's gonna be a long night for them. And as soon as I say that, he walks the leadoff batter. This could be a really, REALLY long night.
  5. I'm not sure about the wisdom of taking out Severino and putting in a pitcher with almost the same stuff. Worked for the second out though.
  6. I do want the Yankees to win, just because I think they're the vastly better team and it'll make it a more interesting postseason. I admit that I'm thoroughly enjoying this though.
  7. Your prediction is off to a good start lol.
  8. Severino might be slightly amped up lol.
  9. Holding off on Kluber seems iffy, since you don't want to exit after game four with your ace on the bench. Still, it could also allow them to start Kluber in game 1 of the next series if the series doesn't go five. Hard call.
  10. Most guys are linked to someone, and have agreements in place. I'm not sure to what degree that's allowed, but that doesn't seem to be considered a problem. Paying their agents, or paying them under the table, etc IS. Given that the GM resigned near the conclusion of the investigation, I think it's pretty likely they did something blatantly illegal.
  11. They probably got as much from ticket sales and stuff when they announced it as it cost them anyway.
  12. The Twins are a feel good story, and anything can happen in a single game playoff, but it's almost impossible to argue that the Yankees aren't the more deserving team.
  13. I think I'd be fine with taking that full contract off their hands, in spite of Stanton's injury history. I wouldn't want to give up blue chippers in addition though. He probably earns the contract in the next five or six years, which makes up for the last few being a little ugly.
  14. Avoid Reddit, avoid comments to articles posted on new sites, avoid Twitter. Take what Atkins says, and try to figure out what players he may be interested in. Debate their merits with other level headed people. You'll be much happier, enjoy the process, and probably learn some stuff too
  15. You can add as long as Yahoo says you have room and a valid roster (ie, no one who is healthy but occupying an injury slot on your team). You can call a prospect up immediately, but once you do, you can never send him back down. The 60 GP limit is the mandatory games limit that a prospect has to be called up by (at the next cutdown).
  16. Damn you, now I gotta scrub my YouTube history.
  17. Still a pretty good deal for him. He'll either get a big payday, or he'll get a second signing bonus.
  18. If he was declared a free agent, would he still be subject to the bonus pools again, or be an actual free agent?
  19. Aside from protecting himself against injury, the biggest advantage for Donaldson in signing early is not having to fight with other elite guys in that stupidly good FA class next year.
  20. Maybe not, but if he wasn't looking for a longer deal now, his timing to go to the front office to talk about it doesn't make much sense.
  21. He'd form a pretty incredible 1-2 punch with Kenley. I think Morrow is a FA (and this is the first year he's been healthy in a long time), Cingrani has been great over the last 2 months, but not especially great prior to the trade. Most of the rest of the pen is fairly forgettable. I don't know if Zobrist would waive the no trade, but he'd be a beautiful fit for us and shouldn't cost much to acquire.
  22. Yeah, that's annoying. With Pittsburgh and Oakland winning too, this win could cost us three spots in the draft, depending on the tiebreak.
  23. Well, the game means nothing. The wildcard game will be a sellout no doubt. I wonder if it might allow us to leapfrog them in the average attendance though?
  24. I'd kinda like to see Alford get a full season at AAA next year.
