  1. Bautista has had a big drop in bat speed this year. The part I'm not sure about is whether it's from his apparent change in approach to use the whole field more, a hand or arm injury, or just age. If it's the latter, then it's time to hang them up. If it's something correctable, someone could get a hell of a bargain this offseason. It's interesting to note that his defense seems to have improved quite a bit this year.
  2. Yeah, that's part of what tipped the balance between me selecting him and taking Chara. He's a good player, and I think the goals will return.
  3. Abomination selects active ageless wonder Zdeno Chara. JG34 is up!
  4. 4.33 xFIP and 29 holds lol. Definitely a keeper I hadn't heard of him either.
  5. Think of it this way, they can only move in one direction, right?
  6. I kinda feel like it's Kershaw's to lose in the NL. He leads in ERA, Wins, and for saber voters (if there are any) xFIP. It's really just innings and K's that he's behind on. Scherzer and Grienke are both having great seasons and deserve some recognition, but imo Kershaw has just been too good. The AL race is much more interesting. It probably SHOULD go to Kluber, but both really do deserve it.
  7. I plan on keeping three of my five in Tulo, Martin, and Folty. Things could obviously change though.
  8. I've added a few I plan on keeping.
  9. I think so. Would have preferred Gudas, who is Boychuk plus 100 hits Can't complain too much though, it's a nice piece just the same.
  10. I was beginning to worry you didn't wake up after drinking a bunch a few days after surgery. Glad to see you're all right.
  11. I guess I'll take Boychuk. JG34 is up.
  12. Damn it! I'll need a minute to find a plan b.
  13. I wonder what happened to those dudes that used to dress up as umps and sit behind home plate? Random musing of the day ...
  14. Isn't Pickard an owned prospect, or did he exceed the threshold?
  15. Lol, that last out is always the one that gets you!
  16. Yeah, it's a little slow at times. Might be some new protection against the DDOS attacks we were getting.
  17. Taking a bunch of White Sox players against Boyd sure hasn't worked out well today lol. He's 5 outs away.
  18. Biagini's fastball reminds me a bit of McGowan (early on), with how it moves.
  19. This might be a really, really long game.
  20. Wow, Donaldson is on FIRE right now.
  21. Added him to Spanky's team. If it's wrong, he can fix it in the morning. I have no f***ing idea who ED is, and he did say the former when you asked that, so that's why I was confused.
  22. I have no idea who Spanky took. If you figure it out, let me know and I'll add the guy (or gal) to his team.
  23. Unless you're Tony Batista lol. If it wasn't at his eyebrows, it was too low.
  24. I'd rather have a higher draft pick than the O's. Pushing them out of the playoff race was enough for me.
  25. I think some of the nastiest fastballs I've seen used to be Roger Clemens throwing a relatively straight 98 mph at the letters (and often in). Pitchers today just don't change the batter's eye level anymore, which allows the batter to key in at specific regions.
