I guess not, it can just be more confusing when people tell someone they're up and don't specify for which.

IMO we should do the waiver draft first, just to make sure we get it in before the season starts.

That would be very, very nice. I'm without both my catchers in the PL atm (Contreras and Posey, not to mention Goldy). That's a lot of firepower not playing.

Lol, that is pretty good. In all reality, I think the team should be fined and the personnel involved (video room guy and whoever was on the bench relaying them at minimum) should get a 1-year ban from baseball or something.

He was afterwards, but it didn't look like he was before that. Dunno, think it was just from excessive arguing about the pitch. I assume Bautista will play 3rd, and Montero in left.

Really no reason to throw someone out while he's facing away from you batting, unless it was something really vulgar (which it didn't appear to be). That said, not very bright by Donaldson.

This is why managers should have to select only 25 players for each game in September, with some protection for keeping starting pitchers in the 25.

Okay, I'll give Carrera props for that play. I think he got a bit of a lucky bounce, but it was still a great play.

On the plus side it was nice to see Bautista really get around on that ball. On the minus side, well, he got around on that ball.

Having Dermody figure it out over the next month, to go with some of the other arms we've found and brought up this year, could be massive for our pen next year. Very good AND very cheap.

Don't think it would help him any, and frankly, the losses are probably better for us this year anyway. I think it's more pitch selection than anything the relegation would help.

I've heard of falling off the mound with the follow through, but Santos almost fell right off the field in that strikeout.

He's also 8th in xFIP and 4th in WAR among qualifying relievers. Someone would pay a boatload for him.

Okay, let's take it to the next logical step. Let's say they embedded a little speaker in the helmet, and the TV crew relayed exactly what pitch was coming to the batter? I mean, that's a step further, but it's the same line of thinking. As I said, the player at 2nd relaying the pitch to the batter is one thing, but using other people not on the field to do it is quite another.

There should absolutely be a fairly significant penalty for this. I don't care if the player at 2nd relays signs to the hitter, that's fair game imo. But using non-players to relay it is way too far, especially when you start talking about the replay operators or TV networks.

I wouldn't be surprised to see both start in AA, given how well they've handled things so far. Teams would normally let them get 30 or 40 games at the same level the next year likely before moving them up, but I'm not sure it'll happen in this case. -
