    No one said Devon Travis was a ceiling, or anything about prospect rankings of the two. I said that if you take the type of hitter and defender Travis is, make him healthy, and add a few extra home runs you probably get a good projection for Bo. That's probably a player in the 3 to 4 WAR range every year. Not a superstar, but a very valuable player just the same. These dreams of Altuve though are just silly. Bo does NOT have Altuve's elite speed, and that's a critical factor. As for players in our system, Snider was a VERY highly rated and touted prospect. Sometimes even the highest touted guys don't work out.

    He wouldn't have been cheap, although they could resign him now at a more reasonable cost perhaps.

    I think it's a second for us, but not positive. It sounds like he could be a hot commodity, and has some concerns as it is. I wonder if we're better looking elsewhere?

    I feel like we may be overvaluing Bichette a little (although hopefully he lives up to it). I kinda see him ending up similar to a healthy Devon Travis, with a little higher home run rate. That's not a bad thing mind you, it's probably a 3 to 4 WAR / year player. No way would I trade him for Garcia though. Bichette fits our needs absolutely perfectly.

    Avisail had a nice year, but he only has two years of arbitration remaining, is about to get expensive, and is highly likely to regress heavily on the numbers he produced this year. I suspect no one here would be willing to even entertain something like that.

    The odds mean nothing regarding the decision on Donaldson. Rogers wants butts in the seats and eyes on the broadcasts, and they want to solidify the fan interest that's been gained from the past few years. They don't want to lose that interest by immediately going into a rebuild mode. They're not trading Donaldson (at least prior to the deadline) unless someone does something really stupid to get him.

    Really? I can't recall us ever doing that in this or any of the other leagues. I thought it was just the top 5 go into the lottery to determine the slot, not just the first 5 picks. I won't complain though.

    Ian Happ probably isn't (too) far off fair value for Stras, given the injury and durability issues. Maybe not a great fit for you assuming Kinsler bounces back though.

    I wouldn't mind us signing Jaime Garcia at their projected 2/16. That seems like a steal.

    Meh, it's probably about right. He basically ended up getting an additional year on his contract for 17.5M, and a no-trade clause.

    Yeah, Bebe just doesn't have the strength inside to rebound (some technique problems too). He sure gives people fits when they try to shoot over him though.

    Peoltl has been awesome! He should be starting rather than Siakam imo (who has played fairly well too to be fair).

    There's talk by a bunch of teams about the ball being really slick this postseason, and pitchers are having trouble throwing breaking pitches. Dunno if that's why, but it's something to keep an eye on.
