    You do have to be a bit careful. I believe before 2017 spin rates were estimated, not directly detected.

    No one on the Jays staff is a #1 or #2 caliber starter atm imo. Stroman / Sanchez have the upside potential to be #2's MAYBE if they get the injury issues sorted out, Borucki could be a #3 if things break right.

    I think it's largely the finger, but the effect highlights the underlying issues he has where other pitchers may be able to get away with it easier. There's so many pitchers in the game having blister issues right now. The league either needs to fix the ball, which seems to be the cause, or they need to approve something the pitchers can wear on their fingers if they have problems (that won't give them an advantage).

    Are you able to rename the off topic forum slightly (maybe to Off-Topic Forum, or Off Topic Forums)? That might break their automation temporarily until admin can put in a more permanent fix. At the very least, they'll have to work for it a bit.

    I would say give long enough to make waiver claims, then move everything to the spreadsheet and open up trading.

    It should probably go to Verlander, but I wouldn't rage at Snell winning it either. You could probably pick from half a dozen guys and it not be egregious.

    He has good walk rates in the minors, so not too concerned about that. Obviously no one expects a 190 wRC+ from him next year with inflated babip, but average to slightly above average in his first full season would be a great result (which is roughly what he's projected at).

    I'm pretty sure most of them speak at least functional English, they just don't want to do a lot of interviews so use it as an excuse. While I wouldn't dislike a player for it, I definitely appreciate one that makes the attempt. I remember when Pavel Bure first came to the Canucks. He spoke almost no English, but still attempted to do an interview. It was a little funny (and awkward), but I had a ton of respect for him making the effort to try. It didn't take him long to learn. Kawasaki's interviews were awesome too! Just make the attempt for crying out loud.
