  1. You think it's bad now, you should have seen it when we had 20 people in the league.
  2. Probably. Atkins said that they're using a different strategy this September, in rewarding guys for various things with just being around the team for the month, but likely not playing much.
  3. Maybe, but he could have mentioned it once in passing and deflected the rest as normal. He really went out of his way to make the point, several times. I'm not saying it's going to happen (probably a very low chance), but between Donaldson's comments on loving Toronto and wanting to be part of the future, and Atkins stressing the possibility, it paints a very different picture than a few days ago.
  4. It's interesting that in Atkins interview yesterday with Tim and Sid (I just listened to it now), he repeatedly stressed that the door was not closed on Donaldson returning.
  5. I'd say Zobrist's defense in the 2nd half of his career (slightly above average at multiple positions, but not elite), and without his walk rate. I think he profiles very similarly in everything else.
  6. I think he fits really well as a Ben Zobrist type. Play him almost everyday, but use it to give the other regulars a day off.
  7. Please stop comparing Teoscar to George Bell ffs.
  8. Yeah, I think it pretty much has to be Anderson, Merryweather, or maybe even Ben Taylor. Given they hinted strongly that it's a player that fits well with our AA and AAA guys, and that I'm not sure Taylor is an exciting enough relief prospect for it to be him, Merryweather is really the only guy that makes sense. I guess it could be Plutko, but he seems more like shuttle fodder to me.
  9. Thames in the 2nd half has a 39 wRC+ and a 46.1% K rate. Yikes!
  10. He's played like 2 (rehab games) since May or whatever. There's no conspiracy, he really does need the couple weeks.
  11. I very strongly doubt it. If he's healthy, they'll give him every chance to regain his 2016 form.
  12. I think he still would have just missed. He needed Rondon to have the clean inning and I THINK it would have flipped OBA
  13. It all came down to a Rondon walk lol.
  14. Cole is really, really getting squeezed.
  15. Ohtani just reached for a hard hit grounder with his bare hand (only got a piece of it). I wonder how many Angels execs are on their way to the hospital right about now?
  16. I didn't see Rondon, but he could also flip K/BB the other way.
  17. Ohtani just hit 98 mph.
  18. So best as I can tell, if Correa can flip SLG tonight (I'm 0.003 back), then P2F goes through. Otherwise jaysblue goes through. I can feel the powah!
  19. I don't think there was one.
  20. 6 of 9 people in our contest today would have cashed in the mini-max!
  21. I'd say someone like Eovaldi would be a good target. Probably doesn't get more than 3 years, and would slot in well behind Sanchez and Stroman.
  22. Most likely Sanchez, Stroman, Borucki, Reid-Foley, and a reclamation project we can flip at the deadline if they pitch well. Maybe they give Pannone the 5th spot, but I think it'll be someone outside the organization. We're realistically probably a year away from filling it internally.
  23. It's probably just noise. Jansen does do a weird thing with his glove right prior to the pitch though, moving it a lot (I think to relax his hand), which may be a distraction for some pitchers.
  24. He said they believe one of Grichuk, Teoscar, Drury likely breaks out similar to Edwin or JB (maybe not quite to that level).
  25. I had to modify mine because of that too.
