I'm pretty sure most of them speak at least functional English, they just don't want to do a lot of interviews so use it as an excuse. While I wouldn't dislike a player for it, I definitely appreciate one that makes the attempt. I remember when Pavel Bure first came to the Canucks. He spoke almost no English, but still attempted to do an interview. It was a little funny (and awkward), but I had a ton of respect for him making the effort to try. It didn't take him long to learn. Kawasaki's interviews were awesome too! Just make the attempt for crying out loud. -

Today appears to be a high scoring day. Oakland scored 21, Det-KC is already 9-5 in the top of the 3rd. This NYY-BOS game is looking like an offensive one, although both teams have bullpens that could change that in a hurry. CWS-CLE is 4-2 in the 3rd.

Romero had a degenerative condition is his knees. He was looking to be on his way to being a solid #2 or #3 starter before that took effect. Sanchez we'll have to wait and see. If his finger can hold up, we'll be able to see whether he can return to being legit or sold his soul for a single year of glory.

Yeah, I don't get this either. One clever innovation or insight could be worth more to the team on the field than a big free agent signing (or save you from making a bad one).

It's easy to say that, but returns at the deadline were terrible for pretty much everyone. Who knows what Drury will become (he's been highly prized for a while by multiple organizations, in spite of the on-field results). McKinney looks at least a little intriguing. Better than getting nothing, and we can still resign Happ in the offseason if he wants to come back (and he seems to like it here).

Living expenses may be very different in the two areas, so there could be other factors. If he works his way up to GM for an MLB team, he could also end up getting significantly more than he would with Apple.

I'm guessing it's just to raise awareness, but it definitely is rather odd. With the technology improvements being made right now, I suspect it won't be very long until they'll be able to give blind people synthetic eyes.

For his career, he's given up a 70 wRC+ versus his changeup. It's certainly not bad, but it's not on a level where he could throw it really frequently and maintain that effectiveness imo.
