Sticking him on the IL for the next two to three weeks really doesn't matter. It would be nice to get to see him make multiple healthy appearances going into the offseason though.
This is something I really want to see changed. It should 100% be the 1st/3rd base ump making that call. It should only default to the home plate ump if they're not able to for some reason.
I THINK so. I believe he was on the MLB roster while on the 40 man, so we should owe him the MLB min this year. Outrighting him should mean we're still on the hook for that, but we also retain control of him.
I find it hard to believe he didn't. I doubt you go from being completely silent to banging your bat against the roof of the dugout. Maybe someone else said the final word or maybe he did, I don't know, but he was acting like an idiot regardless.
I didn't particularly like most of the other options. I decided that going with the guy voted to have the highest hockey IQ was probably a pretty good bet.
Everyone's so afraid of offending someone now that commercials are starting to really suck. Still, I'll take these over the political commercials every single time.
For anyone not listening, they said Shapiro feels the Jays should have a payroll in the #8 to #10 range in baseball (with the exchange rate hurting us a bit from being higher). This year that would put us at about $160M.
I'm not a fan of the call either, but if it had been located where Reese called for it, it's probably an out (or a ball). It just caught way too much of the plate.
