  1. Oh yeah, I have nothing against having them there. I just want them to use the technology instead of their own intuition.
  2. That lying about the height part is hilarious! Players are soon going to be slouching as much as they can when they get their height taken. It'll be interesting to see how Hawk-Eye differs from TrackMan. I didn't know Hawk-Eye could handle it in real-time though.
  3. AI could almost certainly handle that right now. For the maybe 1% of calls that it couldn't, it could indicate it didn't know and the ump could still make the call.
  4. I'm LMAO at all those kids doing the Kimbrel stance in the stands!
  5. Jays are actually 16th out of 30 in the league for home runs allowed per 9, and 7th over the last 30 days.
  6. It technically might, but the umpire can basically use his discretion. The kid is bouncing up and down and all over the place, so he could really make it just about anything he wanted to. If I'm the pitcher though, and the ump does call them balls, the next pitch is going to be my best fastball located a little right of the plate. If you're going to walk with that nonsense, you're going to earn it.
  7. Apparently a save situation wasn't enough for Hader. He decided to make things interesting, giving up the tying run, loading the bases with no one out, and then striking out the side. Just because.
  8. Lol, did that guy pull something going after the ball?
  9. Julio Urias with a 20 game suspension for domestic violence.
  10. Lol Gardner. I tend to think that umps need thicker skin, but having someone act like that SHOULD get them thrown out.
  11. They've also bloated their site with so many ads that it's almost unusable without either an ad blocker or paying for premium or whatever. It's a very dangerous game, because someone is likely to come and put them out of business.
  12. Lol, so Haniger has started rehab games with the Modesto Nuts. You have to think someone was laughing when they assigned him there.
  13. That was a nice hat catch! Also, Vladdy is probably going to get plunked for whatever that was he did when rounding 3rd.
  14. Not to mention that some people on the board are likely minors lol.
  15. Yeah, there's a few people, both here and in the BBDL. It's frustrating, but for the most part owners are pretty good about at least taking 5 minutes once a week to set lineups ahead of time.
  16. The problem is, you don't really know how well they've performed. In order to do that, you have to compare them with other pitchers. Someone who pitches in Dodger Stadium at night is going to likely have a MUCH lower ERA than someone pitching in Coors. Advanced stats try to put everyone on as level a playing field as possible so we can compare them. Are current advanced stats perfect? No, but they provide us with the best information we have available as fans.
  17. He had Choo bailing.
  18. Yikes, that was a terrible strike one call on Teoscar.
  19. Probably not, but it would have been close with a proper route. It's something to watch on other flies.
  20. That was a terrible route by McKinney.
  21. I'll take Erik Portillo
  22. What we don't know is what they discussed when signing the deal. I suspect there's a strong likelihood they had some kind of verbal agreement that if Galvis was going to lose his starting spot, he'd be given the option to be traded (if possible) or released. We didn't know how quickly Bichette and the rest would get here. Having that security for 2 years (if necessary) was likely very important to the front office if something went wrong.
  23. I'll take Mads Sogaard. I've already PM'd Pendleton.
  24. That would have been helpful. I'll pick in a bit. Skip me until then.
