    Agreed. We basically have a few bullpen days right now that I'd much rather see actual starters take. Matt Harvey is still out there. Who knows, maybe something clicks and they decide they want to stay? We need some sort of bodies to bridge the gap.

    By the way, I'm not trying to discredit the rest of your rant about relievers coming in too early. It's actually really interesting. This year, starters are actually putting up a better xFIP than relievers. It feels like maybe the extra innings the pen has to cover is causing "shuttle" pitchers with worse stuff than the starter to get more meaningful innings.

    I'm pretty sure they weren't worried about the risk a blister might form, they were worried about the one that WAS forming. They want him to be able to make his next start.

    Steamer is projecting Vladdy at 130 wRC+ for the rest of the season, with a .298/.366/.506 line and 1.2 WAR. Yes please!

    He had a 101 wRC+ in AAA before being called up. I would have expected his projection this year to be less. One week is nothing, either way.

    I know Fangraphs is meh on Gurriel's defense (probably because of how deep he's playing), but it certainly passes the eye test.

    Only because they refuse to learn how. If you can swing and put the bat on the ball, you can certainly learn to do the same thing without the swing.

    More people need to do what Mejia just did ... lay down an easy bunt against the shift for a free base hit.

    Stroman is easily a #2 or #3 starter on a good team, just not an ace. Let's not be silly here. I agree with the race stuff. This had absolutely nothing to do with race, and should never have been brought into the argument. All I think the original statement was saying is they're under the impression that Stroman thinks the world revolves around him, and going to New York he was going to find there were other guys people a lot higher in the pecking order. He was going to learn his place as a player, not as anything else. That said, hating on Stroman is just stupid. He was a good player for us, who loved the team, the city, the fans, and apparently wanted to stay through the rebuild. It would have been nice to see him be a little more professional, but that's about it. No one should be wishing him anything but the best.

    Giving up a tater to Davis should be an automatic ticket to Buffalo.

    No need to ban it. I'd be fine with restricting it slightly though. Maybe something along the lines of having to have at least 2 infielders on each side of the diamond (unless you go with a 4 man outfield).

    He seemed to fall off as soon as he stopped taking Adderall. Of course, I'm sure being on the O's isn't all the motivating either:p

    Over the past 2 years he's produced -4.2 WAR. They should be DFAing him regardless.

    Gurriel really let up there when rounding the base. That knee may not be 100%.
