Stroman is easily a #2 or #3 starter on a good team, just not an ace. Let's not be silly here. I agree with the race stuff. This had absolutely nothing to do with race, and should never have been brought into the argument.
All I think the original statement was saying is they're under the impression that Stroman thinks the world revolves around him, and going to New York he was going to find there were other guys people a lot higher in the pecking order. He was going to learn his place as a player, not as anything else.
That said, hating on Stroman is just stupid. He was a good player for us, who loved the team, the city, the fans, and apparently wanted to stay through the rebuild. It would have been nice to see him be a little more professional, but that's about it. No one should be wishing him anything but the best.
