  1. I don't know how Bichette kept that fair.
  2. Arenado just got intentionally walked in the first inning!
  3. Seemed pretty conclusively safe to me, unless they had another angle we didn't see.
  4. Bichette must have felt bad for Brock sitting so long on the bench.
  5. We actually used the opener correctly! Will wonders never cease?
  6. Basically. Scutaro put up two really good years, and a few other people sprinkled in the odd one.
  7. It's probably just for 1/2 season or so anyway until Espinal is ready (he seems likely to fill that sort of super utility role to me), and unless pretty much everything goes right next year, we won't be a playoff team anyway. If by some miracle we are in it at the trade deadline, then prices we saw this year suggest we won't have any issue beefing up the team on the cheap.
  8. That's what I'm experimenting with (aside from the LOD) for the remainder of the season too.
  9. They can just use Urena. He doesn't appear to have the bat to be a regular, so even though he's a young player, putting him in the bench role is probably fine.
  10. It's quite likely that Galvis signed with the understanding that the team would attempt to move him when the kids needed to take his starting spot. Also, there's a buyout on his option, so we actually save about 2M.
  11. I think the openers and dramatic increases in bullpen usage are really messing with fantasy. We probably need to address it in the offseason in all the leagues (maybe move all pitching slots to just pitcher, and increase the required innings). There's really only a handful of elite, or even what we'd normally consider high end, guys this year in baseball. xFIP is way up this year (1/2 a run), and most of that probably isn't coming from the top end pitchers. Guys who, in the past, were maybe putting up 3.5 to 3.9 ERA are now in the low to mid 4's. Heck, there's only 28 (qualified) SP pitchers in all of baseball with an xFIP under 4 right now. In other words, I think people's expectations of what a SP should look like in fantasy haven't kept up with the game.
  12. If you're going to decimate your farm, those are the kind of guys to do it for.
  13. Interesting. Those are some high end prospects going out and some high end players coming in!
  14. Would like to move: Yadier Molina © Expected back Tuesday. Asking for a 3rd. David Fletcher (2B,3B,SS,OF) if you want a cheap and versatile bench bat. Asking for a 4th. Kike Hernandez (1B,2B,SS,CF) should be starting rehab assignment any day now. Looking for something worth holding. Brett Anderson (SP) Hard to find SP, and he's got an ERA under 4 with 10 wins. Asking for a 4th. Willing to consider, but would prefer to keep: JP Crawford (3B,SS) Adalberto Mondesi (2B,SS) Currently IL
  15. Peters has lots of power with swing and miss concerns. Since going to AAA though (SSS), he's at 14.6% walk and 23.6% k, and appears to maybe have changed his batted ball profile. It's PCL though, so it could mean squat. I see him as hopefully a rough equivalent fantasy-wise to Renfroe, or maybe current Joc Pederson without the CF, in a year or two. Garrett was a 7th overall pick out of high school who went under the knife and missed most of 2 years. He's back this year, and putting up 10.26 K/9 and a 2.76 xFIP in A+. He's viewed as a solid, mid-rotation starter barring further injury, with a very good delivery. I think he was viewed as a #2 starter ceiling when drafted, although I don't expect that to actually happen.
  16. Yikes. If I was Yarbrough, I'd be really REALLY pissed.
  17. To FTD: Hunter Renfroe To Abomination: DJ Peters + Braxton Garrett I'm calling up Dustin May to make room.
  18. Would like to trade: Sogard (2B,SS,OF) Continuing to perform with Tampa. 869 OPS! Fowler (CF) Cheap center fielder if someone has a hole. Willing to trade, but happy to keep: Joc Pederson (1B, CF) Hunter Renfroe (OF) Daniel Murphy (1B, 2B) Steven Matz (SP) Eric Lauer (SP) Sean Newcomb (SP,RP) Holds from SP! Will Harris (RP - 1.67 ERA + 19 holds), Chris Martin, Hector Rondon Prefer to keep: Adalberto Mondesi Joe Jimenez
  19. Would like to move: Yadier Molina © Expected back Tuesday David Fletcher (2B,3B,SS,OF) if you want a cheap bench bat Dexter Fowler (CF) if you want a cheap center fielder Kike Hernandez (1B,2B,SS,CF) should be starting rehab assignment any day now Brett Anderson (SP) Hard to find SP, and he's got an ERA under 4 with 10 wins. Buttrey / Brebbia / Cimber (RP) Willing to consider, but would prefer to keep: Jake Lamb (1B, 3B) JP Crawford (3B,SS) Garrett Cooper (1B,OF) Adalberto Mondesi (2B,SS) Charlie Morton (SP)
  20. All my healthy pitchers except Sanchez are available (I want to see if Houston can fix him). I don't want draft picks though. I do have some nice relievers. I'm willing to trade one or two, but not all. My preference is to keep Britton and Miller through cutdown.
  21. Damn, that was a great at bat regardless of the outcome.
  22. It's official. Urshela is going to be the next Ghost Rider.
