I would rate the deadline a C- or a D personally.
I like three of the players we acquired (Fisher, Kay, and Woods-Richardson).
I think we BADLY lost both of the "major" trades. They may work out well for us, but I don't think we got anywhere close to fair value at the time of the trade.
I think we lost the Phelps trade, based on the scouting reports I've seen and his stats. However, if some of the verbal reports about Hatch having really good untapped stuff are true, then I might change my mind on that. Otherwise, he seems like a guy who, at best, might make a few shuttle trips and generally provide negative value. The Hudson trade I find more interesting. We probably got decent value there, especially if we move Johnston to the pen.
Brock Stewart is an interesting free pickup, at least from a potential talent perspective.
I'm interested to see who pitches in the rotation for the next two months. I find it hard to believe we'll be aggressive in calling up prospects, as they probably aren't quite ready yet and it would be stupid at this point to start the clock on someone who isn't. Signing someone like Harvey for the rest of the season feels like a no-brainer.
