How hard would be to get a doctor to diagnose him as ADHD right now and apply for the TUE moving forward?

He's not a union member so there will be no suspension. The NCAA didn't administer the test so it doesn't effect him there either (he has been tested there). He does not have a TUE but it's unknown if he can apply for one as a professional. Overall it shouldn't affect anything with his status.

I find it funny that the NCAA can take away Paxton's eligibility based on Paul Beeston's comments but they won't be able to follow up on a test that they didn't administer. I agree that this won't effect anything with JG's status.

Cincy moved Stubbs in the off season because he struck out too much. Not sure how they'd even view Rasmus...especially since it moves a guy to the bench who has been very effective so far (X-Paul). Heisey is terribly offensively flawed but he's back soon too. Robinson is just killing lefties and would probably play over Rasmus against lefties anyway.

I really don't think the Jays will look for a 2B. Maybe if the right deal fell in their lap and they could move Izturis to the 25th man. The Jays will/should be looking at pitchers pitchers pitchers. Does anyone actually believe that half a year of JJ gets a top 50 prospect? Does anyone believe that AA will be targeting not near ready prospects again?

Doesn't even have to be anyone with that much upside in my mind (and he's got a bad history with us). Justin Wilson from the Pirates is the kind of guy to target. Pirates know that his bad control will eventually catch up to him but his GB ability gets him out of some jams. He's almost guaranteed to be a great BP piece if he doesn't work out as a starter. Maybe JJ (can throw in Boni) would get him though. Pirates have a shot this year and have plenty of options coming through the pipe.

Don't care if anyone else on the 40 man 4, 5 2B - Izturis (sorry he's probably here), Kawasaki 6, 7 3B - Lawrie, youngish utility guy that can play 3B, 2B and maybe 1B perferably with options...I'll say trade some bullpen piece for Freddy Galvis but Negrych could be this choice too. 8, 9 SS - Reyes...Kawasaki backing him and Goins in Buffalo as the first choice if Reyes gets injured. 9, 11 RF - Bautista 10, 12 CF - Gose (Rasmus traded this year at the deadline makes so much sense for this team, hopefully the media can get behind it so AA ins't worried about the optics...Major league ready young pitcher in return). 11, 13 LF -Melky 12, 14 4th OF - While Rajai is a platoon option for Gose, I'd rather see a couple cheaper options who are better defensively but still kick ass against lefties. So many other teams have this guy (Gentry in Texas, Pollock in Arizona, Barnes in Houston, Denorfia in SD). Minor league options are more difficult. Sierra is out of options after this year and should only be offered a minor league deal which he might not get. Adding Pillar to the 40 man a year before he needs to be makes no sense to me but he's probably the best 4th OF option if they have an injury. 13, 16 SP1 - Dickey (pitching like a number 1 or not I don't see us going out looking for a true number 1) SP - Morrow SP - Buehrle (won't get anything in trade) SP - Happ SP - whoever we traded Rasmus for. Depth SP on the 40 man - Hutchison, Drabek, Nolin, McGuire and Jenkins...would like to see at least one more name added to this list. 18, 27 Closer - Janssen set up - Cecil, Santos (if Santos isn't healthy cut ties) Middle - Delabar, McGowan, Loup, Long - Rogers, Lincoln Minors - 1 guy no more. If it's wagner that's fine you can seek guys somewhere along the way. I want to see relievers with options not vets. 25, 36 (that's 4 spots to play with but I'm sure I've missed guys and there must be someone other than just Deck that needs to be added this year) Cut ties with Rasmus (trade), Bonifacio (trade), DeRosa (retire), Oliver (retire), Davis (let walk or if you can get anything for him at the deadline consider it), J. Perez (DFA, try and keep in the org), Storey, Redmond, Luis Perez (no options, no use), JJ (let walk, judge the market and consider giving him a qualifying offer), Weber, Gomez. It's not any different of a team from this year, if anything it's worse but it's a better built team still just by getting rid of the guys that shouldn't be here.

It's not going to be easy. I compared them to the 2008 Tigers in the off-season (made two big trades and fell apart completely). Unfortunately, I know we don't have a Verlander on the team and we didn't trade for Miggy but essentially it took them two seasons to decide to move Granderson, who was one of the contributing pieces (was set to be a free agent) and while it didn't work out of them right away, it ended up saving them the payroll, make the playoffs and then could resume spending stupidly. That's really the best case scenario for the Jays. They make minor moves, luck into a playoff spot and then can stupidly spend their way through this.

For me, he represents the mentality of our front office. I take my anger in them out in his smug yet enchanting smile.

Not a lot of number 1 prospects have been traded but I disagree. It's not specifically a need for Texas so they might not do it but it's very believable as far as trade value.

As has been said since the trades, there is no going back in this kind of way. Players that are under contract here until at least 2015 (Dickey, Reyes, Bautista, Lawrie, EE, Morrow & Buehrle) are not going to be moved this year IMO (the possible exception being Izturis who we might hand the $7M he is owed to leave). It will be a question of adding to that and moving the pieces that aren't under contract that will happen. He's got to stick with that core and try and prove that he wasn't wrong.

As discussed in the other Profar for Bautista thread the two of them straight up is probably a very fair deal (a little too fair actually for the Jays liking considering they are getting the more unknown quantity), it wouldn't happen from the Jays side because of appearances, it wouldn't happen from the Rangers side unless they already had a deal in place involving Cruz for a pitcher. It would make the Jays younger, but it wouldn't make the Jays necessarily better. We'd have to play Profar at 2B and would have a much weaker offensive OF.

I think if Stroman is going to get added to the 40 man I'd rather just see him in the Jays pen as the long man. 90 innings of his full max effort stuff is probably as valuable as the 150 innings going back and forth between Toronto and Buffalo. This only works if they add a couple young starting pitchers.

Things I'd like to see for next year with the pitching staff. No more than 1 reliever on the 40 man who isn't on the 25 man. If you aren't sure about Luis Perez, cut him, if Evan Crawford isn't making the 25 man...cut him, If Santos won't be healthy...well cut ties, Michael Schwimmer...goodbye. Stop wasting spots on relievers, your back up relievers should be your minor league starters. Adding young starters with options at low prices even if they have a low ceiling would be good for this team.

Romero can't be counted on (not that can anyway). He's a minor league free agent at the end of each season now. Jays are paying him but he can look for work anywhere he wants.

You don't, you ride it out. Probably going with Dickey, Buehrle, Morrow, Happ and Hutch. Depth will be Nolin, Deck, Drabek (if he's starting) and Jenkins. Maybe there will be a traded piece coming in as well to push the depth back by one as that's not a re-assuring group.

The NCAA baseball tourney is truly one of the best formats around (double knockout mini groups of four teams with the number 1 seed being at home). Right now there aren't the upsets of last year but it's still an amazing tourney that should get way more coverage. I used to be able to find the best ESPNU feeds but they really suck these days.

Yes it's a protected pick and yes I believe 2014 is a stronger draft. I've wondered if more teams would use this as a strategy. It would really be leaving this draft bare though as we would have just $3.5M to sign our other 9 picks. The Pirates have 8.8M to spend because they didn't sign Appel last year.

Daniels has pretty much said that he won't be able to bring Cruz back after this season...Bautista has 3 years (2 plus option) after this year at $14M per. Trading Cruz for a pitcher and adding Bautista plus his next three years could be a huge gain for the Rangers without raising their payroll much (although the only result which makes this a win is finally winning the WS). Profar is still a huge value guy that could get the Jays back on track...but certainly isn't going to sell tickets in the short term. It's most likely a value win for the Jays, A baseball win for both, a PR loss for the Jays.
