  1. You have to be careful what you say around here. I made one little comment to show how strongly I felt about some midget never being a closer and 4.5 years later there are still many that wait for the day that they can see my bouncing junk as I run naked around the Rogers Centre perimeter.
  2. I was stuck in traffic on the 401 today when this douchebag tries blowing by everyone on the shoulder and a truck blocks him off....then no one would let him back in, until the car in front of me did. The letters on his license were BTSG. I immediately thought of you and Silvergun. Also how this driver is likely the spawn of satan...as would a BTS SG combo. Then I thought, I really have to get away from these boards for a while, and get out and meet real people. With that said, anyone want to go curling with SpeedyGose and I in Barrie this Saturday?
  3. I'll take two of them. TdA and Lawrie...including framing though. For the simplicity of things I'll make it an avatar wager and only this season (honestly I'm not even sure I like my side of this wager...which is why it's just an avatar wager) but you made a pretty bold statement and I was just pointing out that I think it's pretty incorrect.
  4. We know he's considered to be a slugger...who got out-slugged by Eric Thames last year.
  5. I'll take that bet
  6. I'll be the first to admit that it didn't work out as well as I hoped. I looked at the previous year and saw like 8 of the first 25 turned into keeper types. Just a weaker looking field this year I guess. Keepers from last year (may have missed some I'm just doing this by memory) Tanaka 1 Abreu 2 Butler 4 Guerrero 5 Span 7 Soria 15 Gregerson 19 Davis 22 Byrd 23 Reddick 31 Smith 32 O'Day 53 KRod 58 Murphy 64 Watson 70 Dickerson 88 (not bad return) Davis 99 The waiver draft doesn't have the biggest impact on the pool but it had more impact on the pool last year than the initial MiLB draft.
  7. I'll take those five over most MiLB drafts. Most teams have to pick up 3 relievers. I'd rather have my pick of three than wait for what's left. I think I traded two players that would have made my cuts Fiers (who also got me Confronto and Micah) and Watson...who I replaced with Quakenbush. The other two players were Hellickson and Soriano. I'm sure I'll be doing it again next year if we still have a waiver draft.
  8. First to complete my team...Always first to finish
  9. Seeing as I'm the only guy who this might be an upgrade for...I'll take Jordy Mercer. Now if I can only pay enough attention to play him strictly against lefties I can actually get some value out of him.
  10. At least you traded correct value for Soriano...you gave me the 14th waiver spot for him.
  11. he stopped riding the donkey when the Donkey started riding him.
  12. It'd be a cold September 31st in Hell before I ever let Billy Bean run my team.
  13. Ripken Jr. Brady And Zaun
  14. Ripken and Brady Anderson replied today. Made Zaun look like Brian Williams
  15. if my team beats a Darrell or Norman...his will be correct
  16. What the hell. I'll take Pierce Johnson...gives me two AAA Johnson's
  17. Fundraising for my IMG trip meeting you jackasses. And for your ignorance I will be hammering you when it comes time to participate.
  18. Got out for a few. I'll take Hunter Strickland and John Holdzcom (and may the holds come)
  19. Yet you don't pick on the fact that he has 9 more Lamborghini's than he can drive. Completely wasteful
  20. Did the OP throw in a graphic...I don't think so.
  21. When I click on players it says that Yahoo's servers are down. That backs me up to Noon to make my picks.
  22. To be fair to him I wasn't clear that the interview stage is in several stages and the first being a written one. There are probably 100's each year that get to that stage and that is where many I know got to.
  23. Here are those questions. The questions were the same in 2010, 2011 & 2012. Can't speak for the past two years. Intern Candidate Questionnaire General: 1) What baseball websites do you read? Which are your favorite and why? What are the most recent books you have read about the sports industry? What did you like or dislike about them? 2) Give a detailed description of a problem that you solved analytically—either at a previous job or in school. Please discuss your process for working through the problem as well as what you found. In hindsight, would you have handled things differently? Why or why not? 3) If given the time and resources needed, what’s the first question about baseball you would research and why? How would you go about conducting your research? How would this research benefit a MLB baseball operations department compared to publically available research? Do you see any potential obstacles in the way of your research? Subjective and Objective Analysis: 1) Discuss the roles and relative importance of subjective and objective analysis in evaluating players, both at the amateur and professional levels. 2) What are "makeup" and "team chemistry" and what role do they play in baseball decision-making? 3) What’s the difference between a player’s ability and his performance? Amateur Draft: 1) What factors do you think should be considered when making a selection in the amateur draft and why? 2) Discuss the implications that you see potentially arising out of signing bonuses being "slotted" in the new CBA. Scouting: 2) Discuss the physical attributes and tools that you look for when scouting a starting pitcher. How important is each in projecting what his future role will be in the Major Leagues?
  24. Actually many were for the Baseball Ops internship. A couple years ago there were 4 guys on this board that posted the questions asked for the preliminary interview. Tercet, Jaysblue were two of them. I still have the questions if you wish to know what they are.
