    You can never have enough DH's and 1B's...it's not like just anyone can play those positions.

    actually he doesn't really K that much at all. 16.7 K% for his career. 14.9% in his huge 2010 season (with a 16% walk rate).

    For me depth is not a body. It's thinking about certain injuries and having a player to place that person in for a short term. Viciedo's upside is one thing, a guy that can hit lefties but he plays a s***** OF and no other positions. Pillar is cheaper, upside is a guy that can hit lefties, play a decent OF and can fill in at CF. Even if they think Pillar is injured, as well as Saunders, it's still a guy that can't play CF. I don't mind any minor league deals but most have seen the M.O. of this front office and think this guy is going to get significant time. Best case scenario for the Jays (Viciedo starting the year like he did last season) is also likely a worst case scenario, as he'll buy himself a lot more playing time.

    At this point I picture Beeston as dead and they are doing a Weekend at Bernie's thing with him. Which of course isn't difficult considering how little the Beest did before.

    I honestly don't believe he has to do too much to end up on the 25 though. A lot of what that RaBBit guy said is the reason. He's an effort guy who looks great at times. I do think that fans are missing the biggest of the stories here. This is the first contract with a Scott Boras client since "The Paxton Incident" which makes me think Beeston really is out already.

    I had Turner penciled in when I picked useless Jordy Mercer...but I honestly don't see how Mattingly gets him more AB's without major injuries. He's versatile but he's not Sean Rodriguez versatile.

    Jonah Keri just posted a three sport (NBA, NFL and MLB) draft they just did. They used traditional settings in each league and in the end it's just about where you finish in a cumulative total (14 for 1st...1 for last) Here is their first round: 1. Mike Trout 2. Anthony Davis 3. Kevin Durant 4. Stephen Curry 5. Andrew McCutchen 6. Clayton Kershaw 7. Le’Veon Bell 8. LeBron James 9. James Harden 10. Russell Westbrook 11. Giancarlo Stanton 12. John Wall 13. DeMarcus Cousins 14. Antonio Brown Something we should consider (adding in hockey) in around the time that the NFL is starting up (seeing as baseball is our most knowledgeable having it the furthest away would likely be the best order). It might get our interest back into redraft leagues, although there could be a keeper element too.
