  1. So Jays fans bitch about KC stuffing the box...push to get Donaldson in and now Smoak is in 4th at 1B. Where is the cry for the best player in the AL being in 3rd place in the weakest position in the league.
  2. Hard to believe that I've made no bad moves, yet my team is this horrible.
  3. Buying out Vandy is always a coupé. That's a $300K education.
  4. Got to agree. Blog needs another SABr world promotion
  5. we all can picture you flexing in your Goins Goins Gone tee
  6. I completely understand if someone doesn't trust Strasburg to be healthy enough to be a star. But continuing to trade youth and control for 12 to 15 starts honestly doesn't make nearly as much sense as trading from a strength. A cost controlled ace (even for just a year and a half) is going to be tough to come by. Washington is the only team I can think of that's still in contention that desperately needs the 1B (or just offense in general) and has the depth to trade a cost controlled pitcher without effecting their team too much. It's a horrible PR move for both teams and gets the Jays into bed with Boras but it's close to making sense.
  7. Not sure what hurts worse out of that, you had to pay full price for a terrible shirt...or you have to wear a terrible shirt.
  8. Jays might have to throw in a piece which makes it tough. But if the Nats were smart they would negotiate with Zimmerman and look to deal Strasburg, who can get them a bat. They have Ross and Roark who could start. All it really means is that Fister might have to start the rest of the season. For the Jays they probably aren't that affected this season they run with a 3 person platoon at 1B/DH. Jays get the smaller upgrade here but Strasburg next season.
  9. You mean he didn't bring that storm last night? f***er ruined pride
  10. I like your style. I need a 400 lbs guy to hang with me all the time so I can say to the ladies "in comparison..."
  11. Sorry you can't delete karma. I thought it was my day. I'm 1.5-0 now. I might retire undefeated but more likely I'll tempt fate again and do the first GDT after Beeston leaves.
  12. the situations are very different. When the Jays picked up Cone they were 2.5 games up with 44 games left to play, and had sold out there stadium for 3 straight years. My point about the buzz was that Hamels creates a buzz for the fans, and even if they don't make the playoffs it gives fans reason to buy tickets (and you can market him next off season too). Leake, Fiers, and to a lesser extent Cueto don't do that.
  13. occasionally I see one that isn't a complete idiot and I invite them here. Work never stops for this mod.
  14. That's surprising. He's about as non of a Howie type player as there is.
  15. Question on the Jays facebook page was if you have the rotation as it is today and the Jays make the Wildcard game who do you want starting that game. Look at these comments: Marco is he is pitching as well as he is now Marco. He's the best we currently have I think it is a no-brainer that you start Buerlhe or Estrada. Picking between the two is where i have difficulty. On one hand Buerhle has the experience. On the other hand Estrada has the fastball command. I think it would come down to who has the better momentum and right now it would be very difficult to pass on Estrada.
  16. Hamels gives you some length. Barring injury he's a lock for another 100 innings the rest of the season. He's the kind of trade that can really hurt your future financially but he's also the kind of deal that puts a buzz into the fans.
  17. That's right Harold Reynolds...the Cubs need a Willie Bloomqvist or John MacDonald.
  18. Down to the last out. Looking like another 1 run loss for the Rays (that's 14 just one less than the Jays)
  19. Yates gets squeezed on low outside pitch...throws the next one lower and further outside and gets the call. 4-3 with Uehara pitching
  20. I've never swung on a pitch on the inside half of the plate so I couldn't tell you.
  21. Cedano in with 2 out. Another loss for the Rays pen.
  22. Mookie just hits a double off a ball that would have hit him.
  23. Time for everyone to get out of my GDT now. Rays in Extras again. They are surprisingly bad in 1 run games.
