Looks like Kiley kind of took a shot at Boxy here. The one thing I'll say is that changing a pitcher after surgery also generally means you can ignore what the pitcher did before the surgery too. Hoffman will have to be a watch and see guy.

Traditional thinking is that ceding the approximately 60-40 platoon advantage in the 9th inning makes no sense so most of the lefty closers have been really special bullpen guys (Rags, Wagner, Myers come to mind). There are the second tier guys like Guardado, Rocker, Wild Thing). I'd much rather see the death of the closer all together and pitch your best guys in the situations where they can best succeed. It made me shoot a load to watch the Rays bring Boxberger in for the 7th to face the heart of the Red Sox order and let Geltz close out the 9th.

I have an account again, but it's borrowed and I can't loan it out (sorry King, you know I would). Corpus Christi is my go to morning watch now. The fun to watch hitters are gone (Kemp, Aplin and Correa...Teoscar and Moran remain, but prove more and more that they are just a guy), but the pitching is fun with Appel, Musgrove, Hader (even Devenski has been interesting albeit old).

I was certain that he'd be going to Oregon. I still say he was miles ahead of Pompey at this age, similar enough guys with Demi having the better baseball body -
he also gets almost as many swinging strikes on those curves as Kershaw.

the walks are up a bit, the velocity is barely down. Issue would be he's an extreme flyball pitcher in a hitters park. His FB's to the outfield are up over 50% this year.

Where are you getting 4 win starters for the rest of the season...and a 1.5 win reliever (although I suppose Chapman projects to over 1)
