  1. Still 35-1. Honestly Jays at the same odds are probably a better bet right now. Even though I don't like the Angels at 14-1 they aren't the worst bet (currently at a 20% chance of making it to the WS)
  2. International play is always in tournament form. You have a schedule to follow...you don't want a 17 inning game. This usually ensures scoring in the extras. OBA or all younger ball who have pitch counts should go to these rules too. There was a semi final game two years ago that went 14 innings. Both teams had 4 pitchers already burned from previous games and the winning team ended up killed in the finals as they were on to their number 8 pitcher.
  3. Deal already done with the Dodgers. Book it.
  4. This one makes baseball sense and is easy to PR spin...just have to play up how the trade market for relievers would cost the Jays too much and how they are protecting Sanchez from further injury. Play up how good he was last year in the pen and how the pen needs help. Really AA's speech is already written for him. Could be that someone less dumm in is in AA's ear, but likely he believes most of what I just said rather than understanding how it makes baseball sense.
  5. Finally a one run win this one is all on Cash. Now if only we could win at home
  6. Got that one as I head out the door.
  7. Steven Stamkos is my hero. A rested bullpen for the Rays is better than a tired one...but it's still not a great situation here.
  8. Small, white and circumcised. I know that isn't what's in your outlandish thoughts but sometimes you have to take the best package you are offered.
  9. This was never a deal I was confident in taking. I'm not worried about Glasnow's numbers as I wasn't getting Urias without him.
  10. After looking at this (the last list they did) Lincoln Hamilton should have taken over the site. 2013 Top 50 Prospect List : Sheet1 Rk Staff Average Wes Yee Lincoln Hamilton Steve Carter 1 Oscar Taveras Oscar Taveras Dylan Bundy Oscar Taveras 2 Dylan Bundy Jurickson Profar Oscar Taveras Dylan Bundy 3 Jurickson Profar Dylan Bundy Jurickson Profar Jurickson Profar 4 Wil Myers Wil Myers Wil Myers Wil Myers 5 Xander Boegarts Xander Boegarts Gerrit Cole Xander Boegarts 6 Taijuan Walker Jose Fernandez Xander Boegarts Jose Fernandez 7 Anthony Rendon Taijuan Walker Anthony Rendon Taijuan Walker 8 Jose Fernandez Francisco Lindor Trevor Bauer Anthony Rendon 9 Francisco Lindor Anthony Rendon Taijuan Walker Francisco Lindor 10 Gerrit Cole Zack Wheeler Carlos Correa Jameson Taillon 11 Trevor Bauer Javier Baez Trevor Rosenthal Nick Castellanos 12 Nick Castellanos Christian Yelich Byron Buxton Christian Yelich 13 Christian Yelich Nick Castellanos Francisco Lindor Gerrit Cole 14 Jameson Taillon Trevor Bauer Jose Fernandez Trevor Bauer 15 Zach Wheeler Gerrit Cole Shelby Miller Miguel Sano 16 Byron Buxton Jameson Taillon Jameson Taillon Nolan Arenado 17 Shelby Miller Kevin Gausman Nick Castellanos Zach Wheeler 18 Miguel Sano Mike Zunino Christian Yelich Kevin Gausman 19 Kevin Gausman Byron Buxton Travis d'Arnaud Danny Hultzen 20 Carlos Correa Shelby Miller Zack Wheeler Tyler Skaggs 21 Travis D'arnaud Tyler Skaggs Archie Bradley Travis D'arnaud 22 Archie Bradley Miguel Sano Miguel Sano Jackie Bradley Jr. 23 Jackie Bradley Jr Jackie Bradley Jr.Adam Eaton Shelby Miller 24 Mike Zunino Jorge Soler Nolan Arenado Archie Bradley 25 Tyler Skaggs Carlos Correa Kevin Gausman Jorge Soler 26 Nolan Arenado Addison Russell Danny Hultzen Carlos Correa 27 Javier Baez Archie Bradley Jackie Bradley Jr Mike Zunino 28 Jorge Soler Travis D'arnaud Taylor Guerrieri Jedd Gyorko 29 Billy Hamilton Kyle Zimmer Jedd Gyorko Byron Buxton 30 Danny Hultzen Taylor Guerrieri Mike Zunino Billy Hamilton 31 Taylor Guerrieri Billy Hamilton Mike Olt Javier Baez 32 Trevor Rosenthal Aaron Sanchez Kolten Wong Mike Olt 33 Mike Olt Chris Archer Billy Hamilton Mason Williams 34 Jedd Gyorko Mason Williams Tyler Skaggs Trevor Rosenthal 35 Mason Williams Mike Olt Gary Sanchez Kyle Zimmer 36 Kyle Zimmer George Springer Carlos Martinez Kolten Wong 37 Chris Archer Alen Hanson Chris Archer Albert Almora 38 Adam Eaton Nolan Arenado James Paxton Taylor Guerrieri 39 Gary Sanchez David Dahl Austin Hedges Nick Franklin 40 Aaron Sanchez Bubba Starling Nick Franklin Matt Barnes 41 Addison Russell Gary Sanchez Tyler Austin James Paxton 42 Kolten Wong Kaleb Cowart Matt Barnes Trevor Story 43 Carlos Martinez Robert Stephenson Casey Kelly Christian Bethancourt 44 James Paxton Jon Singleton Jorge Soler Carlos Martinez 45 Nick Franklin Max Fried Mason Williams David Dahl 46 Matt Barnes Kyle Crick Max Fried Aaron Sanchez 47 Jon Singleton Lucas Giolito Lucas Giolito Ronald Guzman 48 David Dahl Adam Eaton Aaron Hicks Jon Singleton 49 George Springer Matt Barnes Julio Teheran Bubba Starling 50 Albert Almora Carlos Martinez Aaron Sanchez Austin Hedges http://projectprospect.com/article/2013/04/09/2013-top-50-prospect-list
  11. I think PP only ranked first one year. The other two he did it for it was BA I think. If only AF didn't leave off Lawrie, things would have been so much different than him. Although his explanation was that he was told Lawrie couldn't play the infield and that his bat wasn't good enough to be a corner OF. Still not enough to leave him off of the top 100 entirely though. Foster was the only guy I can remember that put Lucroy in a top 100.
  12. Age is a thing. But overall it appears that this list is taking the ZIPS 5 year projections vs. salary a little too literally.
  13. Prepare for the outrage http://cdn.fangraphs.com/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/TradeValue20111.png
  14. 30 to 21 up. Thor at 22 sandwiched by a couple pretty good Marlins. http://cdn.fangraphs.com/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/TradeValue30212.png
  15. An interesting quote from Kris Bryant. I was always under the impression that the Jays made him a serious offer and he turned it down.
  16. starting tomorrow for two weeks I'll be more unresponsive than normal as I work mornings and work the Pan Am games at night. Look for me on all basketball broadcasts though as I'm courtside.
  17. So how many times in his life has Trout been pinch ran for?
  18. 2.5 for Frazier actually.
  19. I think said he is only one of two 2017 FA's on the list though (Lucroy being the other)They have obviously given more weight to years of control than they have in the past. He would be an interesting guy in the trade market...much like Gomes I don't think he would ever return what he is actually worth.
  20. This is fangraphs. They are basing this on contracts and projections. He is still projected to provide 17.5 fWAR (without taking into account framing) over the 5 years of his very affordable contract. Take away the players names from it now and say player A 17.5 war $29m for 5 years. Player b 9 war $19m over 2 years. You now tell me who wins that deal. Not that much between them. Everyone's argument for not liking gomes spot is that he isn't as good as his projections. Funny how some people still love to quote projections for their faves but not for others
  21. Because not everyone bases things on 3 months of ball. No one would have traded Gomes for Frazier in March. I don't know how Gomes responds to the injury but if he gets back to his 2014 bat, him and Frazier probably have similar bats.
  22. not the worst writer...just the worst baseball mind.
  23. apology accepted
  24. You vulturous f***ers. I make one post about how bad Miley is and I get 4 offers within 2 hours (all for your potential drops). I probably would have accepted the first one I got (sorry NJH) but now I see that there is interest I'll hold on and see if I can get more.
  25. and he's got 300 innings of 1.5 fWAR before that. Not to mention I've got him as 8th in the time period. Two of which will be ahead of him (Sale and Kluber), and a third that will be cheaper than him (DeGrom). Zero chance Carrasco is in the top 10. Not even the Indians view him the way you view him.
