  1. Found it. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/barry-kiefl/rogers-nhl_b_4815741.html http://images.huffingtonpost.com/2014-02-19-rogers1-thumb.png http://images.huffingtonpost.com/2014-02-19-rogers2-thumb.png In total from 2009 to 2012 Sportnet's ad revenue was between $65M and $82M. approximately 30% of that came from the NHL. Even if the Jays equaled the NHL money in around that time line, that's no where near the 100's of millions people estimate. Sports and Entertainment revenue has never peaked higher than 2% of Rogers total revenue, the Jays are just about exposure for Rogers, not making huge money.
  2. I'll try and find the document but Sportsnet does not make insane amounts on ad revenue. It never broke it up the details by "Jays" but this was hockey vs all else and the numbers were really low. I really should have saved it
  3. I think the fear is that EE and JB are given free agent deals that lead the Jays to that point moving forward. Tulo will be a black hole contract soon enough. And there is very little making it's way through the pipe. JD is great through the finish of his contract. Pillar looks solid, Travis if healthy. Alford/Pompey are still question marks and after that it's Vlad Jr...probably 5 years to know if he's anything.
  4. I think using "healthy" in the title thread is appropriate. Jays older talent health (much like this season) will determine their success (I don't care who they sign, they aren't going to win boatloads of games based on their pitching). They got way more games out of EE, JB and Reyes/Tulo than I anticipated this year. Another healthy season for those three and I don't see the Jays not being in the playoffs again. You know that's painful for me to write.
  5. With the Jays not having a set bullpen it's possible they go with a guy that might look finished but have some value in the bullpen and hope to hit Estrada type gold again. The 1 year $6M-8M options that might end up wasting money in the pen look a little less horrible when your budget is less tight.
  6. I've been saying for a year and a half that he'd be a trade chip. I don't know if they'd do it in a season when his value is so low, but it's possible.
  7. do you honestly believe that? Panda???? James Shields??? I'd say that the playoffs was a factor in earning both of them a 10 to 20% gain or loss.
  8. That option was removed in the last CBA i think
  9. In the same way you could say "should have lost game 5 of the DS"
  10. I know we've had many male posters pretending to be female in the past, but I have been doing some recruiting on other fan sites, so keep the assumptions to a minimum and be respectful to all new posters until they aren't respectful back. We know how group mentality gets around here and often all it takes is one "she's got a dick" message and the place blows up.
  11. I just don't see them paying the top price on any top pitcher. I think it will be a trade and maybe sign a guy like Iwakuma or Kennedy
  12. Much like this year, I think AA's future plans will always be to have cash for mid-season improvements. I think the end number will be somewhere around $145 if they do well
  13. It is going to take the entire off-season to get the smell of smoke, booze and shame out of Beeston's office.
  14. oh Jimmy Canuck.
  15. who said that he'd have multiple GM offers?
  16. $137.5 to start the season.
  17. so funny cause almost all of us in trying to come up with deals for Zorilla (who I thought was the best off season target), we all included Boyd...just knowing that he's a Billy Beane type.
  18. Ventura = *******, Cueto = *******, Ubaldo = *******, Papi = *******, Bautista = *******. I just have one question...how is our Bastardo so likable?
  19. Says the guy that started the elimination GDT...next year someone will be designated to create GDT records and a playoff schedule will be created. Not following will be punished with a OH membership
  20. That was a roller coaster. Staying up all night to write a paper now. I kept my laughter to conversations with Nox.
  21. I'm just happy I can go back to cheering against KC now. Good season for the Jays...proved me wrong many times this year.
  22. Never go back Greenwood...never go back
  23. updated weather pattern http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnnnext/dam/assets/151022233332-hurricane-patricia-catastrophic-energy-reading-large-169.png
