  1. Truth bomb! Here's to a great season for the Blue Jays and for the farm.
  2. I can only imagine how many eager new fans will be born if the new era of Blue Jays baseball begins as " King " alludes to. We have a full farm system; the Blue Jays brass needs to just be patient and, as you say, let our prospects adjust to the big leagues.
  3. Sooner or later there will be ample reason for mlbprospects, switchhitter and the other whoppers to show up here without a need for rule-skirting. You just wait.
  4. Get rid of the draft and go with a free-for-all with spending limits. The initial limits are based on a weighted ranking of team records over the past four years (35-30-20-15) On Opening Day (the end of the offseason), rank all 30 teams in terms of free agent dollars guaranteed. Then, dock the highest-spending team 15% of their amateur pool, the next highest 14%, and so on until 15 teams have been affected. There you go. No player or team is treated unfairly.
  5. This would only buy out two free agent years so it's not the true extension people have been speculation about for months. 6/150 would make sense for both sides. Trout would still become a free agent at a relatively young age.
  6. lol. I don't love this for the Yankees, although it does make sense for them. As his defense declines I'm not sure Gardner will continue being an above-average player. More of a 2-2.5 WAR stopgap, which is okay at this price. Rasmus has a different skillset and has always played CF, so I'm not sure how much this affects him.
  7. We don't even need Colby past this season. Let him go. The King is on his way!
  8. Jackson was my guy lol. I ended up taking Joel Peralta (dem holds!). There's not much available.
  9. Mid-season everyone thought these would be the MAG Sweepstakes. Then the injury concerns surfaced and Tanaka and Abreu became eligible.
  10. He picked. We could get three in five minutes here if CatsAss doesn't take the guy I want
  11. I think that TRM was drunk when he drafted Zach Lee, and the next morning had no idea why he took him. So TRM decided to act like his reasoning was very sound since Lee was going to be a saviour. He instantly became Lee's biggest fan and would toot his horn at every opportunity. Something like that. The whole situation was pretty funny for a while.
  12. I'm talking about the MiLB draft btw, not this one. I'm doing research for MiLB in addition to the waiver draft, so I thought I may as well clear this up.
  13. I need a little clarification on Rule 4 draft eligibility, and confirmation to the below would clear it up. Are all prospects that are in an MLB organization, have not appeared in an MLB game, and are not on a 25-man MLB roster or MiLB roster eligible? Thanks.
  14. I owned both for a large part of last year lol. The talent pool here seems to be really thin. There's only one guy left that I really want.
  15. Nobody had Cruz-Orioles. Only Ervin, Drew and Morales remain! Our top three entrants, jays4life19, havok24 and Angrioter have very differing opinions on said three players' fate. So there's likely to be plenty of drama remaining.
  16. Asking you about Cobb is right up there with asking Dinger about Fernandez and FTD about Trout in terms of trade message futility lol.
  17. Who did you forget about? Kendrys Morales?
  18. Alcantara's not ready and thus doesn't fit into our self-constructed window. I bet he was talking about Franklin.
  19. I like that we have Brenden Kalfus coming up in the minor leagues. Man can that kid play. He's the future of the team!
  20. I'll cheer for upstart small-market teams (like the Pirates or Royals last year, or the A's the past two, and the Rays in the playoffs), but I don't have a set second team. I also like watching certain pitchers, so I'll watch their starts and cheer somewhat for their teams.
  21. Get MLB.TV! It's the most amazing thing ever. You can watch any game you want at any time on any platform in HD. You can even watch multiple games at once and jumping between games is very easy. I watched A LOT of non-Jays baseball last year and it gave me a better appreciation for the game. Now the Blue Jays ineptitude doesn't dampen my excitement for the upcoming season, because I follow every team. Last year for whatever reason I didn't get blacked out from watching Blue Jays games despite living in Southern Ontario. But if the blackout does exist for you there are ways around it. There are no blackouts for games involving teams that are out of your area so if you're getting it to escape Blue Jays land you won't have any problems.
  22. Just goes to show you that most FAs really only care about money. It further damages AA's familiar "nobody will take our money!" narrative. I bet he'll be tooting that again if the Jays are done by mid-season.
  23. I'm going to create a '2014 MLB Predictions' contest in a few weeks!
  24. I bet he'll gain it again in the first half. They plan to use him as a super-utility type. And you didn't give me much lol
  25. The BJMB crowd had Jimenez signing at 4/56, to the Blue Jays. This isn't that much of a discount from that. Ubaldo did okay here.
