I like how CJ Edwards became everyone's go-to example purely because he had already been name-dropped. There's a hitting prospect in particular that everyone was probably thinking about when they typed Edwards.

Yeah the real problem seems to be that the issue was never addressed when the league was created. I've been keeping a list of A-ball guys who could reach AA by June since the start of the offseason, and may have acted differently in the past had I known none of them would be addable. But I guess I'm flexible when it comes to rules that cover up loopholes/unforeseen circumstances, as opposed to rules changes that are purely cosmetic. So if it's agreed that this is the former, z3r0s' rule could work. I have another idea though. Every team has 100 'AA prospect dollars' (AAPD) to spend throughout the season. Whenever a prospect is promoted to and first appears in a game at AA, every owner has two days to submit a silent bid of AAPD to a commissioner through Proboards. After the two-day deadline passes, whichever owner submitted the highest bid is awarded the player, and that owner has their bid deducted from their total AAPD pool. In the case of ties, the owner with the higher waiver priority (or maybe lower standings position) wins.

I don't have a problem with a first-come, first-serve policy regarding players that have been passed over multiple times by every team. There were decent prospects who reached even the Majors last year and were awarded to whichever owner was paying attention. That's cool, and those owners deserve credit. But I agree that there does need to be some better system to determine who gets the player if many teams are involved. It's more than just CJ Edwards. I'll bet that there will be seven or eight prospects who are good enough to get drafted in the 2014 MiLB draft who will have reached at least AA at the time of the draft.

I don't think it should be considered for this season, next year would be fair though. Part of why I traded so many prospects this offseason was my intention to be very active scooping prospects who reach AA for my MLB team. Plus, all of the 2014 MiLB picks have been traded with the current prospect rules in mind; they'd have been traded for more value had people known the prospect pool would include these guys. No 2015 MiLB picks have been yet traded yet (nor do they yet exist) so I think changing next year's rules is fair and would give everyone enough time to adjust.

Yeah it's unlikely that I own this guy for very long. Had Jaysblue owned 'Micah' he would've been a strong cut candidate for the June draft so it's unlikely much will come of this. It's very strange nonetheless. I read an ESPN article about Micah two days ago, checked if he was unowned, then waited and drafted him. Little did I know there was a secret controversy surrounding him lol. Jaysblue is said to own 'Michael' on Proboards too.

He has value to a rebuilding team though. A lot of people consider him a top 100 prospect, which is worth something. I'd flip him soon after picking him up for a pick upgrade, which does have value to me.

No, because then whoever has the #1 waiver priority would get Edwards. It's supposed to be a free-for-all. If I didn't want Edwards but wanted to prevent you or NJH (division-mates) from getting him, I'd add him prematurely and then let whoever has the top priority scoop him up. If it's the time that's inconvenient, maybe changing it outright would make more sense. Although I kinda like that the time's inconvenient. -- I took Micah Johnson. KingKat is up!

Related to the prospect adding rules defined a few days ago, what happened if someone jumps the gun and adds CJ Edwards at 5:59 am on the applicable day? Maybe a Darrell would restore the player to the FA pool and let everyone have a go at Edwards again the next day?

In a 12-team, Cobb is a decent guy to have and Jimenez isn't worth anything. And EE > Abreu by a lot, so I'd easily take the EE/Cobb side.

Cron was a good pick. You'll throw him in the NA slot and be able to grab another player comparable to those who were available at the pick. I'm going to take a prospect with one of my last two picks and do the same thing.

I was in pole position for all but a couple weeks. So it sucked to lose out on the President's Trophy, but at least I won the Turkey Bacon Club Title and so have something to show for the season.

Should've thrown a bit more quality Houston's way to get Bud Norris instead.

I'm fairly pleased with how it's worked out. Most of what's been taken since pick 25 or so has been generic relievers who project for 20 holds and decent ratios. Good guys to have, but not much different from the guys still available. And I was always going to cycle my last three roster spots for most of the season anyway, so dropping mid-round waiver guys early in the season would've been a waste.

If we're looking at minor league stats, then why not endorse Mike McCoy instead? 2009 (AAA): 572 PA's 120 wRC+ 2010 (AAA): 259 PA's 132 wRC+ 2011 (AAA): 186 PA's 123 wRC+ 2012 (AAA): 349 PA's 101 wRC+ 2013 (AAA): 430 PA's 100 wRC+ Airmiles has never been a below-average AAA hitter! Decent defense too.

I'm not sure what makes you think that. Are there specific things you've identified in him that make him look like a major league hitter?
