  1. Yep. Not being able to receive a QO is never a bad thing for the player. If they're worth a 1/14 contract, they'll get it on the open market.
  2. I mean forward-date the contract then lol. You still sign it now but enter April 1st into the date fields. And don't file it to the league until then.
  3. Could they backdate the contract to the second day of the season? In the meantime, have him work out in Dunedin unofficially.
  4. I remember Carlos Beltran had it written into his Mets contract that they couldn't offer him arbitration. That's part of why the Beltran-Wheeler swap was so costly for San Francisco -- they didn't get a pick when Beltran left.
  5. This actually saves the season. I was kinda depressed about our chances, now I'm fired up and can't wait for April.
  6. Not at all, don't give these types of people attention. He's just refurbishing other reports.
  7. It makes all the sense in the world but don't get your hopes up lol.
  8. Well, we have a knack for being the mystery team... Quick list of possible teams: Angels, Mariners, Rangers, Indians, White Sox, Blue Jays, Yankees. If he's sticking by the "good offense" demand, you can probably eliminate the Mariners and White Sox.
  9. If he has a good year, he'll turn down the QO again and we'll get a comp pick out of it. He's not going to accept the QO just because of his experience this offseason. Two good years in a row will warrant a longer-term deal. This is a no-brainer IMO.
  10. If AA pulls this off we'll have to invert the connotation of 'despair.'
  11. Get 'er done AA! This is what you've been waiting for.
  12. Yep, thanks. I'll take Max Muncy as the #96 pick instead. A Darrell can change 'Michael' to 'Micah' in Jaysblue's Google Doc roster.
  13. We should! That's why I posted it. Have it like the waiver draft: players cannot gain eligibility after the draft has started.
  14. lol c'mon. I don't think my actions today were egregious. You should expect opposition any time you change a rule mid-stream. And I eventually relented since the rule changes make sense. I promise not to cause this kind of s*** again though.
  15. Okay. I'll get back to traditional asset acquisition methods. Sorry lol. I don't mind Grant as a poster but know it's not good to be compared to him fantasy-wise. Yeah that makes sense. I think we have that for the waiver draft.
  16. You get a last-round MiLB pick and drop the prospect from your MLB roster when it's your turn to pick. Then you draft him in the MiLB draft. Last-round picks are going to go for so cheap this year that it makes sense to sacrifice one in favour of Rosell Herrera.
  17. Yeah I would have traded Herrera to Boxy for a pick upgrade. Or I'd have used a loophole to get him on my MiLB roster.
  18. There's a guy out there who will start the year in AA and KLaw ranked ahead of Moran, Piscotty, Franco, Odor and others. He's pretty studly. Power, speed and average at a shallow position. I wouldn't say they're bad prospects, just that most of them aren't worth keeping for a full season if you're not rebuilding. But if you're contending you can always trade them to a rebuilding team.
