Hopefully Miles can pitch 3-4 innings.

Gonna need 5+ from Arighetti tomorrow and that's pretty unlikely.

Mantiply is almost ready too so maybe they abuse Little again tonight for as much as they can and send him back down for Mantiply tomorrow.

This injury to Bieber sucks. Its basically going to result in some guys getting DFA that don't really deserve it.

Currently on the 40 man with options in the minors:

Cellucci

Klein

Lee

Tiedemann

Van Eyk

Other injury updates:

Jameson Taillon is supposed to throw a rehab game in Buffalo on the 28th so that's some news...

Bieber... feels like old Yeller time for the season but ... his injury is just inflammation, nothing structural. Two weeks, likely a rehab start then maybe gets 1-2 more with the big club as the season winds down.

A real decision is coming with Trey - if they don't think he can make it back for the end of the season they should probably shift him to the 60 day IL to make room for Guerra or Stanifer.

Clase might be able to be shifted to the 60 day as he's dealing with plantar fasciitis which can take a long time to recover from... he's already been out just over a month.

Urias ... that's a mystery card for now as it's a quad strain and he would be on track to come back in mid September if all goes well in rehab. Any setback and he might be 60 day IL

Josh Smith will likely be back as soon as he is eligible or a few days later depending on how they want to manipulate the roster.

-0.021 WPA for him last game which is good for him. He's heating up!

Seriously though he only has 2 positive WPA games in his last 15 and we always bat him 2nd or 3rd.  If he was even half way decent we'd be in a playoff spot right now. but instead we have a black hole in the most important batting spot in the lineup every game.

Wrong!  He gets to bat 2nd..lol

Also Sanchez in left field.  Actually this whole lineup is dumb but at least Bateman and Kirk seem to be batting where they should be.

I'm so tired of watching these lineups every day. Always same order, never moves down Guerrero more than 3rd, no matter how he performs.

Since late May, I think Guerrero has one of the worst wRC+ among Jays batters, but JS doesn't care about the data

Of course JS put f***in Guerrero jr 2nd in the order tonight. 🙄 Does he think that the $500M kid would magically turn around the corner and perform better?

It makes zero sense. In his career he doesn't hit in the 2 hole but redface keeps putting him there smdh. The team played better when he was out imo

Well it took redface 3 months to move Springer out of the lead off spot.

JS said he doesnt have the balls to move Vladdy down in the order.  Thats the type of culture we're running here so we should stop expecting it.

Just be happy he isnt benching Kirk after a day off for whatever stupid reason he had.  This team is where it deserves to be.

The lineup just pisses me off, I don’t think I’ve ever hated a jays team as much as I do right now including the coaches, I even suffered through 2024 without this much hate

Since May 1, Vlad has the 2nd worst WAR in MLB (-0.4) and 3rd worst wRC+ (73). He has a .312 xwOBA over that span. That's spanning 369 PA for Vlad. He's not going on a hot streak. He's broken and needs to be fixed, and that's not happening in one month. As mentioned before he's likely hurt and playing through it, but we won't know it until BNS or Keegan or whoever writes a "Vlad has been battling (insert injury) since the end of April" tweet sometime in October.

Rosters expand to 28 in a few days, no need to fret.

This may happen regarding some release of information saying he is battling some physical impairment.   I dont believe it. He is still generating triple digit exit velocity.  News of an "injury" will be nothing but a half measure to appease fans and save face for Vladdy.

Ya, all these excuses made for Vlad are annoying to read.  In 8 years, Vladdy has had 2 really good years, 2 decent years and 4 pathetic years.

Maybe we should realize that he just isnt what his perception is.  There was a reason why this front office didnt want to even give him 300/10 just 2 years ago.

Im still a fan of Vlad overall but that contract will make it hard to remain that way tbh.

I don't get it.  Vlad hasn't been even playing at a replacement level for months now. Pretty much any MLB bat can take his place.

But sure let's try the same thing again maybe this time it will work!

His ceiling is really high. He has mvp capabilities but I dont know if he will ever unlock it.
