Maybe in September if the Jays completely fall out of it. But right now, with how weak the AL has been, they’re still only 1.0 game back of the final Wild Card spot and 8.0 games back of the Rays, who have started to struggle a bit themselves. Even with all the Jays’ issues, the season isn’t over by any stretch.

I’m sure there’s plenty to do there more than this dump of a city

It's kind of amazing that we have the record we do with getting so little from Vladdy. 

It's almost halfway through the season. This is starting to look like a s*** season from him rather than just a slow start. He really needs to figure s*** out.

Also getting 0 from Springer, and tons of injuries to boot. And Hoffman blowing several games.

Well, it's going to be hard with Springer and Guerrero hitting 0-8 every game in the top of the lineup.

It's time to at least move him down in the order. There is no reason for him to be getting the most AB's on the team right now.

After that, if he doesn't get it together by the All-Star break then he's the weak side platoon.

To be honest, I'm not totally surprised Vlad has struggled this year. He went from that long emotional run in the playoffs last year to the WBC early this year. 

Once Kirk is back I would give him a phantom IL break. I'm sure something is barking at him. Call that a "strain". Tell him to take the family on vacation for 3 or 4 days and then get him into the complex to review his mechanics and see what, if anything can be tweaked. We need this guy. Maybe he just needs a reset.

At least he should get to take an actual break at the All-Star break this year.

I might believe this more if we hadn't seen this pattern emerging in the last few years. But it seems his power numbers just keep dropping more and more and more especially in the first half. This isn't a fluke, it's becoming a feature.

I wasn't expecting a win coming in but I thought Okamoto's deep drive was going to leave the park to tie the game up.
