G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 6, 2025 Author Posted October 6, 2025 Tigers suck Can't even win the Skubal game cause getting shut out Spanky__99 and Stangstag 2
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 Tigers just tied it in the 8th off that amazing Mariners bullpen. Brand new game.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 Skulbal is still in the game at 97 pitches. Interested to see if they bring him back for the 8th or go to the pen.. He's been great outside of seeing Polanco.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 both Brash and Finnegan pitching back to back, Varland will be fine
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 And the Tigers give it right back... Honestly I would have rode Skubal longer. Stangstag 1

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 I feel like I have never seen Munoz pitch bad ever.
Masterbather Verified Member Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 Massive missed opportunity by the Tigers. With a one game lead and Skubal on the mound. They need to win his starts.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 Series is going to Detroit 1-1. I feel like people thought the Tigers would lose Game 1 and win the Skubal start but apparently not. Either way they stole the one they needed in Seattle and they go home to Detroit where the Mariners aren't a very good road team. Thinking this series goes 5 for sure though.
SeranthonySantander Verified Member Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 The thing that scares me about if we did somehow win a World Series. I read dodgers stuff online all the time and they are upset all the time just like every other fan base. So really a World Series buys you a month of excitement during playoffs and a couple weeks of basking in the win. Then back to misery and thinking they are entitled to a World Series the next year and every year after that. Same deal with Astros fans, they are miserable despite basically a decade of success. Winning culture. That's what the Dodgers have - the goal every spring is to win the WS. Period. Losing becomes unacceptable.

Losing becomes unacceptable. I'm sorry but I have to call horse s***. It's really easy when you have, by miles, the highest payroll and you are a preferred destination for several reasons that are beyond most anyone else's control. I'd love to see them have a "winning culture" if their team moved to Oklahoma or some s***. I'm infinitely more impressed by teams like Tampa Bay. There's little real talent in what the Dodgers do.

When they win, I'm sure it doesn't feel as good when your payroll is double most other teams. They are more bitter and disappointed when they don't win. If you won all the time, the same excitement isn't there because it's just expected. What's the point in watching when the threat of heartbreak isn't an inch away. And still, it isn't working out for the yankees or mets who are trying to do the same thing.

Would they still be geniuses if they had the resources of even a middle of the road team? I'm just saying I respect the whole idea of winning culture more when it's not coming from the Dodgers or the Yankees or an obvious massive market with massive advantages and resources. I have a lot more respect for St Louis for instance for the years that they've been excellent.

Pages, Will Smith, Sheehan and Kershaw are home grown, Muncy was developed at the major league level so essentially also home grown. The rest yea either bought or acquired via trade. Losing is no fun so I don't get what the issue is? the culture spills over, fans get excited and they too expect to win

Justin Wrobleski looks like he could be a solid arm. Bobby Miller might still have time to figure things out. Some BP arms like Alex Vesia, Jack Dreyer, Ben Casparius, all who were above 1 WAR this season. Other guys who were home grown (now I'm going back): Matt Kemp, Chad Billingsley, Jonathan Braxton, Russell Martin, Andre Ethier, Kenley Jansen, hanton 1

Governator Community Moderator Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 I want Mariners through, I'd love to see the Jays fans on the West coast get a chance to see a postseason game and more than that turn the road games into home games for us. I guess plenty would make the trip to Detroit as well..... but it's Detroit. G-Snarls 1
