Umpire striking out Bellinger with a very high ball 3

😂 😂 😂

It wasn't out of the strike zone though. Perfect pitch really.

Manager John Schneider said after Sunday's 8-4 win over the Brewers that Scherzer was pitching through upper-back tightness, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports. The right-hander took a no-decision after striking out one and giving up four runs on nine hits and no walks across four innings.

That was a much needed bounce back game for the bullpen. Little made some great pitches but got himself into trouble with the keystone cops defensive routine. Little owes Tommy Nance a nice Swiss Chalet gift card after bailing him out of trouble. I never thought I'd utter these words but it appears as though Nance is a stud and easily deserving of more leverage innings as he keeps completely shutting down the opposition. It was great to see Varland with a nice bounceback outing and Dominguez brought the filth as well. This pen will likely never be a true shutdown unit as they tend to walk too damn many batters but hopefully this game can act as a bit of a stepping stone to a more effective month of September.

I also have to give props to Myles Straw. He's enjoyed a huge month of August and he's up to 96 wRC+ for the season as a whole. It doesn't appear to be an unsustainable fluke either as he was sitting with nearly identical xwOBA/wOBA splits heading into today's game.

I love the Brewers everything.

It's hard to hate the Brewers.

Be careful. You can get tarred and feathered for liking another team on this message board 🤣

Went to watch Game 1 and 2 of 2018 NLDS in Milwaukee against the Dodgers, and it was a great atmosphere and experience. Brewers games are a lot of fun! Tough team and organization to root against. Except when they play the Jays.

I'm old enough to remember when they were division rivals. But I didn't hate them like I hated other rivals. I respected them.

Awesome small market team.

Great atmosphere.

Bernie Brewer and his slide.

The sausage race.

Bob freaking Uecker!

Front Row Amy!!

How can anyone not like them?

Edit: I also love the logo. Very clever design.

Milwaukee is only a 4.5 hour drive for me with no traffic and a cheap hotel, as opposed to 7 hours and the nightmare that is Toronto traffic. I love going there and I haven't missed a Jays game in Milwaukee for the last 30 years (although I may next year if tariffs aren't lifted).

I've also seen some other games there when I go down to nearby Green Bay for a Packers game. It's a beautiful city and a great place to watch a game. I love the Blue Jays, but it really puts Toronto to shame as a place to watch baseball and hang out around the stadium. I don't get why anyone would trash it.
