That's actually probably why. Lot higher chance of them scoring the runner from 3rd with 1 out when contact guys with speed are coming up.  If he catches the 3rd baseman back on his heels, which it looked like he had, then he probably beats it out.  I don't love it or hate it.

Straw might have only been acquired to try to help acquire Roki Sasaki but he's a 4th OF on a first place team and maybe the Korean High Schooler turns into a gem. Things have a funny way of working out when they aren't suppose to.

Barber probably needs to clean up that vulnerability on low and inside breaking balls moving forward. That one was well located, but it’s definitely a pitch he chases and whiffs on often.

Later in his career when Molitor was primarily a dh he had a 20+ stolen base season.  Not team leading though.

I don’t know if he finishes with it, but Straw has an outside shot at a 2 fWAR season. If you told me that before the season started I would have fainted.

Just a basic update, MRI was clean, inflammation only. Day-to-day

Of all the things that has gone right this season for the Jays, CF defense has been just exquisite to watch, day-in and day-out.
