Severino looked to be on his way to a quality start.  Credit the Jays for getting to him.

He looked amazing today.  The As defense let him down as we shouldn't have even scored a single run this inning.

But credit to us because we've just been finding ways to get the job done.

Severino looked great. Credit to the Jays for battling and finally getting to him as he got closer to 100 pitches (some spotty A’s defense was a nice touch as well).

Speaking of looking great, Max looks like his prime version right now.  This team is getting me overly excited.

what specifically?  I find Schulman junior talks too much

He's a radio guy, they have to talk more when there's no pictures and it just carries over to when he very occasionally does TV. It's something that'll change with time and experience

That's a good point, radio does take more explaining

Yep, when youre not talking on the radio the listener hears....nothing. all that dead air needs to be filled since there's nothing to look at that explains itself

Not sure how long Scherzer is going to go tonight (1 more inning max, if he’s staying in the game at all), but would be nice to end this game only using Pina, Green, and Nance.

With yesterdays off day why push the old man.  Bullpen is rested. With JS you never know though.

Yeah I’d probably take him out as well with how risky his thumb is. Hopefully JS can fight the urge to use a leverage reliever (unless the game gets close).

Exactly... we got the allstar break so just use all the low leverage guys now.  The high leverage guys should be available for both of the remaining games.

Why doesn't JS pull Scherzer, let him rest

It's possible that Max told Schneider he wants to get at least 90-100 pitches in tonight.  He's been known to tell his managers how long he wants to go.  Allstar break coming up so his last start for the next week and a bit.

Cancel the plan to rest the bullpen arms, it's high enough leverage time unless we score a few here.

Chad Green can serve up a 2 run homer in the 7th and then we have another tight game
