Buffalo Bisons Buffalo (1), Rochester (3) - 7/6 Box Score In the final matchup of the series between Buffalo and Rochester, the fireworks were in the past, and it was a slow game. Anders Tolhurst got the start for the Bisons and put together a quality appearance, going five innings while only surrendering four hits, two earned runs, one walk, and striking out six. The runs came when J.T. Arruda singled home C.J. Stubbs in the second inning and Robert Hassell III homered in the bottom of the third. Earlier, Buffalo got on the scoreboard in the top of the third, when Rainer Nunez launched a 437-foot home run to center field. Arruda for Rochester again singled home a run in the sixth to give the Red Wings a two-run lead. Orelvis Martinez walked in the eighth inning for the Bisons to put two runners on, but Yohendrick Pinango and Ali Sánchez struck out to end the threat. Buffalo would only get six hits in the game and went on to lose 3-1. Rainer Nunez - 2-4, 1 R, 1 RBI, 0 BB, 0 K, 1 HR Anders Tolhurst - 5 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 K New Hampshire Fisher Cats New Hampshire (10), Portland (5) - 7/6 Box Score Sunday was Trey Yesavage day for those that follow the minor leagues closely. He made it through the first two innings, surrendering just a double to Ronald Rosario in the second. The third inning again proved to be his downfall, as he walked a batter and coughed up a single and a sacrifice fly. Then, in a much-anticipated matchup against James Tibbs III, he let a fastball catch too much of the plate, and it was rocketed over the center field wall for a two-run home run. New Hampshire was still in a good spot, having already scored two runs before Yesavage got roughed up; Gabriel Martinez had an RBI double in the first, and Jackson Hornung added an RBI groundout in the third. Charles McAdoo is on another planet lately, and he would tie the game up at three in the top of the fifth with his ninth home run of the year and his fourth long ball of the week. New Hampshire was not done in the fifth, adding a two-RBI single from Jacob Sharp and an RBI single from Alex Stone. In the bottom half of the inning, Tibbs would walk, followed by an Allan Castro home run, cutting New Hampshire's lead to one. With the game still separated by one run, Peyton Williams broke it open in the eighth with a big three-run blast to right field, scoring Ryan McCarty and Hornung. McCarty then added another run for good measure in the ninth on an RBI double. New Hampshire battled to take this one 10-5. Peyton Williams: 3-5, 2 R, 3 RBI, 1 HR Nate Garkow: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K Vancouver Canadians Vancouver (4), Everett (3) - 7/6 Box Score The Canadians and Everett faced off for the last game of the series, and it came with a bunch of homers combined from both sides. Teddy McGraw started for the AquaSox, and after a Cutter Coffey double, Sean Keys drove in the first run with a single in the first inning. McGraw went three innings before being taken out for Evan Truitt, who gave up a homer to Carter Cunningham right after coming into the game to give the Canadians a 2-0 lead. Jackson Wentworth faced trouble in the fifth inning, walking a batter, then giving up a hit before allowing a three-run homer to Carson Jones, but he got out of the inning. Eddie Micheletti Jr. picked up his starter, tying the game up immediately with a homer in the top of the sixth, and when he came up to bat again in the eighth, he hit his second homer of the game to win the contest for the Canadians. Eddie Micheletti Jr. - 2-4, 2 R, 2 RBI, 2 HR Micheletti capped off a hot week with a two-homer day, one to tie the game up and another to win the game for the Canadians. This performance earned him MiLB Hitter of the Week for the Northwest League, as the Virginia State product is now tied for first in the Blue Jays' minor league system in home runs with 14. Jackson Wentworth - 5 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 3 K Wentworth went five innings or more for the third appearance in a row. He’s been finding a bit more consistency recently, although the strikeout stuff is a little on and off. The righty pitched four scoreless innings before getting out of a shaky fifth inning. Dunedin Blue Jays Dunedin (1), Lakeland (8) - 7/6 Box Score Johnny King took the mound for the Dunedin Blue Jays and struck out four batters in two innings of work. However, he faced traffic in his second inning and gave up three runs. Eminen Flores also gave up three runs, putting the D-Jays in a hole early despite JR Freethy’s leadoff home run. Silvano Hechavarria pitched three strong innings, giving up only one run and striking out six batters, but the D-Jays did not score after the first at-bat of the game, as they went out quietly against the Lakeland Tigers. JR Freethy - 1-4, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 HR, 1 SB Freethy came back from an extended IL stint and rehab appearance and quickly had himself a homer in his first game back. Silvano Hechavarria - 3 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 K The 22-year-old Cuban has been strong to start his non-Rookie Ball professional debut. In this game, he pounded the zone with a 72.3% strike rate. His fastball velo wasn’t sitting in the mid-90s like it normally does, but he generated a 61.5% whiff rate with his cutter in a dominating performance. FCL Blue Jays F-BLU (0), F-YAN (5) - F/7 - 7/7 - Game 1 Box Score The first game of the doubleheader between the Blue Jays' and Yankees' squads was a nightmare for the Blue Jays' team. The Yankees' team got out in front with a home run and two runs in the second inning. The home run was a solo shot from Santiago Gomez to left field. A steal of home in the third, an RBI single in the fourth, and an RBI double in the seventh would give the Yankees' team a 5-0 lead. They would go on to win by that score because they no-hit the Blue Jays' team over the seven innings. The Jays only reached base four times on walks. Dariel Ramon - 0-1, 0 R, 0 RBI, 2 BB, 0 K Amir Garrett - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K F-BLU (6), F-YAN (7) - F/8 - 7/7 - Game 2 Box Score The Yankees' team jumped out in front in the second game of the doubleheader, scoring two runs in the second inning again. This time, the runs scored on two wild pitches. David Beckles put a ball in play in the third inning that scored a run on an error by the third baseman. Also in the inning, Aldo Gaxiola hit an RBI single and Andres Arias walked with the bases loaded to give the Blue Jays three runs in the frame. An RBI groundout to the pitcher in the fourth gave the Blue Jays' team the lead, 4-2. In the eighth, an RBI double from Arias and a run scoring on a wild pitch brought their lead back to two. In the bottom of the eighth, things would unravel for the Blue Jays' squad. Luis Escudero walked with the bases loaded and then Gabriel Terrero hit a double, bringing in two runs and giving the Yankees the walk-off win. Andres Arias - 1-2, 0 R, 1 RBI, 2 BB, 0 K Eduar Gonzalez - 3 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 K DSL Blue Jays Blue D-BJB (1), D-GIO (0) F/7 - 7/7 - Game 1 Box Score Monday morning saw BJB take on the Orange team from the San Francisco Giants organization. The hits were few and far between in the game, as BJB would only score one run and record one hit on the day. In the fourth, Franklin Rojas was hit by a pitch and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Angel Guzman grounded out, moving Rojas to third. Rafael Flores would then smack a ball to left field for a sacrifice fly. That was all BJB would need, as Cristhian Duarte went six innings, only coughing up four base runners from three hits and a hit by pitch. BJB won the light offensive game 1-0. Rafael Flores: 0-1, 1 RBI Cristhian Duarte: 6 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K D-BJB (), D-GIO () - 7/7 - Game 2 Suspended DSL Blue Jays Red D-BJR (1), D-NAT (3) - 7/7 Box Score BJR got the scoring started in the top of the first inning, as Juan Sanchez tripled to lead off the game and then scored on Elaineiker Coronado's groundout. Their next scoring opportunity came in the top of the seventh inning, down 3-1. Randy Soto and Pascual Archila walked, followed by Nestor Urbina being hit by a pitch to load the bases up with no outs. Nicolas Vergara struck out looking, and then the game went into a rain delay. Coming out of the stoppage, Luis Felipe and Renyel Campos both struck out to end the scoring threat. In the top of the ninth, BJR had another opportunity, but it ended before it could start. Urbina was thrown out at third base trying to turn a double into a triple, as BJR fell 3-1, striking out 15 times in the game. John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2025 Posted July 10, 2025 I really want to see Peyton Williams in just one major league game and mash a HR. Iowa Meat Truck is a nickname that is just on another level.
