Man the Orioles are so sad. Up 8-0 and now down 9-8. Seems like another year where the Rays will inexplicably be one of the best teams in baseball by the end of the season, and it annoys me every time.

How about this f*ckin' team boys?  Incredible.

I think Ernie Clement is an all-star this year. Let that sentence set in!

He's so underrated

How about Lauer though? You guys think he'll stick and return to his 2022 / 2023 Brewers form?

What a gift that would be. Hopefully Manoah comes back good too and Francis can turn it around

And Scherzer looked good also and could be back by his next start or 2.

Fingers crossed.

Without Santander and Varsho we're still getting it done.  Go for the sweep tomorrow boys.  Afternoon game.

Clement: 4.8 WAR in 744 PA's since coming to Toronto.

Espinal: 4.3 WAR in 737 PA's in 2021/22

So yes - he definitely is.  However, just because Espinal turned into a pumpkin at about this point, it doesn't mean Clement will.  But, there is a possibility that happens, especially for a guy who broke through at age 28.

In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy the ride!  I'd love to see him grab an all-star spot.  Players like him who endure and continue grinding, only to find success later in their career deserve a f*ckton of credit and I'm really good with giving them some exposure in the all-star game.  It's a great message about resiliency and never giving up on their dreams.  Good story to tell to kids during the game.

Second half Vlad is here!

Is it second half Vlad or batting third Vlad?  Either way, I'll take it!

It feels Ike me that Ernie isn't going to suddenly turn into a pumpkin as Espinal did. Espinal seemingly lost all of his athleticism and became a supbar defender and hitter all at once. I believe that Ernie is going to continue to be streaky as a largely BABIP dependent hitter but I don't expect the elite glove work to disappear overnight as he is a far superior athlete compared to Espinal.
