The Padres broadcast mentioned Tatis and Guerrero were childhood friends so I looked it up. Tatis Sr and Dad-Vlad played in Montreal for three seasons together. Huh, didn't realize that.

The Jays use every reliever in the pen (JS about to smoke a cigar after the game just for that) with TBD as tomorrow's starter. Not ideal. Hopefully Lauer can eat some innings tomorrow night.

It's not ideal, but we didn't use anyone yesterday and by not extending them today, most should be available tomorrow to throw on a B2B.

 

This feels like one of those games the Jays never win.

Yeah I thought the pen had been managed pretty well honestly. Hoffman is the closer so you can’t expect him to not go out in the 9th just because there are LHH up. Hoffman didn’t even throw that bad of a pitch to Sheets.

Yeah this loss (if it ends up a loss) will be on Hoffman. I joke about JS loving to use as many relievers as possible, and it's not even that much of a joke as I think he legitimately gets high off that, but this one wasn't on him. If Hoffman does his job then it's not even a discussion.
