I would almost DFA Springer at the point. He's awful. This would give Roden, Barger, etc a chance.

This roster already needs those guys even if Springer turns the clock back.  This season will be heavily dependent upon having at least 2 of the AAA guys become good MLB contributors.

Box score info only suggests a bad day for Francis and Little

Were they are bad as the line suggests??

Francis/Rodriguez/Bloss have been getting rocked all spring.  Hope Francis can at least turn it around since the 5th spot is all but his.

Bloss has been very impressive his last few times out. He was sitting at 96 with the heater today and touched as high as 98 MPH. How earlier issues were primarily command related and that's been much better in recent outings.

Francis likely overachieved last season. There will be some regression there. Hopefully it's not significant regression, but I think the expectation for him should be a lot closer to #5 starter than anything beyond that. Which is fine if the top 4 are good to very good.

You're a tool.

Francis was fine after the 1st, he struggled early with command. Little just had a bad day. Fluharty is looking like a great LHP next man up, or makes the club, who knows.

He is our #5 starter, whether regression is entailed, it remains to be seen, I don't get your point, aside from the top 4, chucked in the same boat?

My point was exactly what I typed out there. He’s going to regress from what he showed last season but hopefully still ends up a serviceable #5 starter, which won’t be a big deal if the top 4 hold up their end.
